Every once in awhile someone mentions on PM, IM or email that they "wished I would..." or "wished I hadn't..."

So in that spirit and the spirit of a PM I just got "did you delete X post?" comes behind the scenes:

Rumor: Matt deletes too many topics.
Fact: I've been a mod for about a year. With the exception of a few duplicate posts where people post the same topic more than once, I've maybe deleted TWO threads. Ever. If that's too many, *shrug*

Rumor: Matt locks a LOT of threads - DJ never does!
Fact: Thread starters can lock their own threads. I have locked exactly three threads that were not my own. One was 8 pages into a disturbing OSP fight that wasn't going anywhere, one was an attack upon ONE osp member, and I honestly can't remember the other. But I think it's 3. I can only think of 2 DJ has locked so yes, I guess I'm "winning."

Rumor: Individual posts disappear ALL the time! I know I read Dan say something!
Fact: Individual posters can delete their own posts for a limited time after they post it. Some people use this more than others. Dan Watkins for instance has removed more of his OWN posts (349) than DJ has ever removed posts including his own (330). More than fifty OSP'ers have removed 20 or more posts. If an individual post is removed, chances are HIGH that the poster did it, not us.

Rumor: Matt & DJ can read PMs & spy on us.
Fact: As far as I know, IPB does not offer this functionality in the admin panel. I haven't gone looking for it, but I have never wandered across it in my admin duties. If we are able to, I can't tell you how if you become a mod! lol So no, we can't (as far as I know).

I'm not sure I really want to open this up for questions cuz I'm not sure when & what I would reply but if you do have specific "rumors" you'd like cleared up about the workings of the forum, let me know and I *may* answer. No promises. And the lack of an answer doesn't suggest an answer either way. Ok, ok.

Let me get this straight...Dan (Watkins) second guesses himself and deletes his own comments, yet still posts a video of himself in a wedding dress? I can only imagine what didn't make it thorugh his "filter".

On second thought I don't want to imagine.

I am sad that Dan filters himself so much... he's the funniest guy I know!

lolSomeone "becomes a mod" by fixing OSP when hackerz fluck it up. The pay is off the charts though! ;)As far as the future - not sure when or if we'll need more mods. We've done with the two of us for quite some time. If we do, I have a couple people in mind that I'd suggest to DJ. yes....exactly!

Rumors, rumors, rumors... glad we're clearing some of this stuff up!

Okay, just one more: Is it true that 1) Bella Pictures has been given mod powers at OSP, 2) that OSP mods have secret crime-fighting identities, 3) that Nikon shooters are not invited to any OSP get-togethers, and 4) that Matt A. will personally give a raspberry to anyone who persistently uses poor grammar?

Just what I heard...

1) Um......no.2) I wish! I need one of these. As far as I know there are only three people with secret identities - kawter when he wishes, turtle when he's trying to be funny and "God" (I know who God is, I know who God is!!)3) Shhh they may hear you.4) Quite probably not. Um yea... I've hacked into DJs account quite a few times now (er or perhaps he just needs to sign out when using computer ;P) and I for one can vouch for these facts to be true

I think one of the two posts DJ has deleted was one started by himself at OSPS last year called "Bringing Sexy Back" if I remember correctly...
