Hey guys/girls!

Here's the deal of the day! No kickbacks either. The promo code is on their homepage, www.dreamhost.com

500 GB's of space, and added to every week.
Webpanels, goodies, etc, fully Bludomain compatible, etc
50 Terabytes of bandwidth and going weekling!

110.10 off any plan 1 year or more prepaid! So that makes their default hosting of 1 year, My Crazy Insane Domain plan only, wow...

9.90! For 1 year. Next year it renews at the current cost, but wow, that REALLY is insane.

New Users only. I had my wife sign up for me, for a new venture we're going to do, and you get a free domain name on top of it all!

Go for it guys!

it will probably work out fine but if it starts to go south bear in mind that all these promises are pure marketing (lies, really, but largely inconsequential -- if bare-faced -- lies.)

50TB a month is 20mb a second. To shift that would require a dedicated 200Mbps uplink, working at 95% (or thereabouts) of its full capacity 24/7. Dreamhost's servers have 100Mbps uplink shared among everyone on the server (hundreds of users).

There is no such thing as unlimited bandwidth -- they just don't tell you by how much the uplink is throttled. Limiting bw usage to a certain number, and making sure you can never reach that number, even if you constantly served files flat-out, amounts to the same thing.

Since shared hosts, Dreamhost included, have a ban on persistent processes (long downloads/uploads qualify) you are never going to have anything close to 24/7 bandwidth utilisation no matter how fast (or slow...) your uplink. If you happen to have enough regular traffic to sustain that kind of load then your account would be kicked.
