Ok...so...I was really pressured into the whole video thing and here is how it went...

I took a class called Persuasion and Propoganda (killer class by the way) my junior year at Westmont and at the end of the semester we had to do an assignment that was a mock video for the school's admissions department. Well I had ever done any video editing before but the teacher new I was a photographer so he says in front of the whole class "I'm sure non of you will be able to compete with David Jay's but give it your best shot!" How is that for pressure!

So I did what anybody would do in that sort of high pressure situation - I broke the law and stole a version of Adobe Premiere! w00t.gif I didn't really go to the store and shoplift it I just downloaded a hacked copy off the internet and started trying to learn this beast of a program. Let me tell you video is intense and tons of work! I spent days and weeks just searching on the internet and going through tutorial after tutorial just trying to figure out what the tools did!

The process taught me a lot about learning and how much I can find if I just make the effort to look around for it. Google.com is like almost better than a college education. smile.gif

So anyway...I didn't have a video camera or anything like that to make this project with but I had tons of pictures so here is DJ's very first video montage slideshow thingy from way back in the day! smile.gif

...and I'd suggest watching it as small as possible because it is super compressed....I'll try and get another one up that's less compressed because some of the pics are pretty cool. smile.gif

very nice... the first video i ever made documented the hacking off of my hair and while parts of it were rather clever, it's pretty straight-forward and low-quality. i don't think i have a future in the area!

Awesome! I got it to download and actually see it! smile.gif
LOL, teacher is right though, i bet no on could compete w/ that!

cool.gif cool...

almost makes me wish I lived in SB, CA and went to Westmont

guess the video did the job, eh?

Hah! This is exactly what I've been doing the last month and a half. laughing.gif In 6 weeks I've learned to use Flash Studio 8, Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5 and PS CS2. See...you all have such great websites...and I don't...so I 'm trying desparately to catch up.

Nice work on those transitions! I think I see a little bezier action in there! clap.gif

So how did the prof like it, DJ? Did you do as well as expected?

Looked pretty good to me! Also looks like alot of work. I've always been fascinated with video and making my own little movies. I might be calling you. Your other little movie with the gun and all was really great.
