I was working on this image from a wedding this weekend but my wife says it's overdone. I thought it looked great...I'm not so sure now, she's got me second guessing. What do you think?

Any input would be greatly appreciated! thumbsup.gif

Here's the before:

and after:

Bellissima
IMHO - not too much at all.

it's still her - and she looks beautiful. this is what a professional portrait is about.
great job!!

brag on yourself - tell us what you did!

EDIT - there is something above her head in the background that you might want to get rid of - my eye keeps going there.

I think it looks great, maybe a tad too much on the face though. You might want to take out the foot above her head...

The eyes look overdone to me, but I personally like the way her skin looks...

Here's a revision of the same portrait using everyones advice.

Eye's not as intense

Shoe removed from brides head

and Gaussian Blur from level 10 to 7

As far as my process for this image:

1.Created duplicate layer and used heal brush to remove any small blemishes.

2.Duplicate layer once again and used wand tool to select all exposed skin and then added a layer mask revealing all selected.

3.Gaussian Blur level 10, and then use brush to clean up a bit
-Once happy with the "airbrush" I do a Gaussian blur on the mask itself.

4.Merge all layers except "background" layer.

5.Duplicate layer in Overlay and used paint brush to paint eyes blue
-Create a layer mask and hide all, then use brush to reveal the eyes.
-Adjust opacity to whatever makes you happy... it's usually between 15-30%

6.Homemade "Lomo" action to bring up contrast and saturation!

7.Post on OSP to find out if it looks ok! biggrin.gif

I like your first edit better, minus the shoe in the background.

I enjoy the second revision you did. It looks fantastic! Thanks for the run through on your pp!

I like the skin tone on #2 better because it is more realistic, but the intense eyes on number one make the picture!

This is what I want to know more about...I really want to learn photoshop much better...

I think the second edit with the first one's eyes...that would be super sweet...

Ask and you shall recieve...Step 1.Open the photo... here is the second edit I did just for instructional purposes.Step 2.Duplicate your layer.Step 3.Select the color you would like the eyes to be. In this case, I want to enhance the blue in her eyes.Step 4.Use a soft brush to pain over the eyes... I know... looks creepy... but forge ahead young photoshop soldier!
