Hi everyone

After a month or so of reading the forum, and finally registering, thought I'd say hello. And btw, happy gobble gobble gobble! Up here in Canada ~we're in Vancouver, British Columbia, ~ it's Thanksgiving weekend right now.

My hubbie and I are lucky enough to live, love, and work together. We are a writer (me)/photographer (him) team who spent most of our time doing editorial until a year and a half ago when we discovered weddings! What a blast! Since then, we've been doing our darndest to take Mike Colon's advice to heart: "Get in over your head, and swim to the top." Well, we're not at the top, but we're definitely swimming, fast, and through some wild rapids!

As Chris' second shooter, assistant, and allround office/pr go-to-gal, I have been eating up every last crumb of advice on this forum. Luckily, I've learned lots by osmosis during all my editorial shoots with Chris and with each wedding, I feel like I'm improving! Between you guys, Pictage's message board, and Gary Fong's blog, I feel like I've been to the school of inspirational business/imaging gurus (though I may be getting the first signs of carpal tunnel syndrome with all this time on my laptop!) So, thanks! Truly, the sharing between photographers is really amazing!

We just launched our new website: www.chrisjaksa.com. Now that I've got my key for Showit web, we'll be adding a featured wedding link with one of these great and oh-so-easy slide shows. Looking forward to going to some trade shows this year, and gleaning all I can from all of you and perhaps sharing our two cents too!

Hey Lynn - welcome aboard! I love you-and-your hubby's work, it's very refreshing as each image is quite different from the next. I've learned so much from all these guys/gals in this forum, and have been inspired by everyone's work. I'll be looking forward to learning from you as well!

WOW -- is the first word that comes to mind. Every day someone new shows up with amazing pictures and I spend hours checking out their work in detail. I feel like my head is going to explode with all the awesome photographs I see. Welcome aboard and I can't wait to see your showit movies!

I'm running out of good adjectives to describe ppls photos... Your shots are the BEST EVER (I'm going to start saying that to everyone from here on out... but will mean it too). Really, really nice work.

Great to have you! Excellent work on your site! (as has been said). very nice and well put together. What I appreciated the most in your portfolio was the exceptional control of depth of field... everything you would want in focus was, and the rest was pleasant.

"Your shots are the BEST EVER" I'm with Shua. No really...great work and welcome here Loved the mountain/lake reflection shot in the editorial section. Your packages are well thought out, and great wording in your Bio section too.

Glad to hear you website deisgn - we were worried it might be a bit too basic. I just hope prospective clients are patient and won't go click somewhere else while our galleries are loading!

We are still thinking of modifying some aspects ~ our bio page presently only features Chris since he's the primary shooter and the one with all the creds. We have had lots of brides tell us what they enjoyed about working with us was our team husband & wife approach though so we may add my mug up there as well [/I]And[I] I'm improving! Now some of my shots are "webworthy"
