OK, so what I've been doing is shooting the reception with my 580ex on camera with a lightshpere. I get decent even light, but Im lacking a little more dramatic effect. I'm still going to use it on one of my bodies. But I'm thinking about using another 580ex with a stofen off camera with the ettl tether cord for cake cutting, first dances, etc. I'm thinking that getting it off, up and over, will allow me to get some better directional light to give certain moments some more drama. I want to know what you all think about this idea. Thanks, Gabe

It's a great idea!
In general it will look better the higher angle it comes from (so people's bodies do not black the light as much) so put it up on a ten+ foot stand when you shoot. If I;m only using one slave I like to put it behind and off to one side of the dance floor so it rim lights the subjects then use the on camera for fill (with the ration set to 1:4 or so).
