Okay! We made the leap into an LLC and a new website all in the same month. I know, we are just a little crazy, but we REALLY want to get this business that has been a hobby for sooooo long off the ground. Let me know what you think. Thanks to all of you wonderful OSPer's!

Home and then Pictage?

Your second menu item says Pictage and Information. This looks like a mistake.

You then have Pictage as your last menu item. I might change that from Pictage to something else. That is like advertising for someone else. It could be just me but that doesn't make sense.

Since I haven't used blu, is that all the music they let you use? If not I would suggest investing a bit more into some music that most of the other blu clients do not use.

You have some lovely images. My suggestion would be to let the viewer get to know you a bit more.

PS - on your blog, I like that you have upcoming events. It shows that you have bookings in the pipeline.

I might be confused, but isn't toll free something like 800 or 888 not 760? Or are you meaning toll free to you?

Under your information section and then locations you mention that you have offices in western Washington and southern California. Are you trying to be vague or imply that you are a large corporation (or newly formed LLC)? This to me reads a bit like you are stretching things.

Also the last sentence states:

"We all love to travel, and are open to weddings in other locations including destination weddings." Isn't any wedding in a location besides Western Washington and Southern California a destination for you? I might try to rephrase this.

Once again this gets back to know more about you, the person that will be shooting the wedding. I have now learned there are 3 of you. I know your names and am now off to google to see what I pull up. If you supply me with enough info here, I might not be tempted to go use google and in turn stop looking at your images.

From google the first listing for Pamela shows she sings.
Michael shows he is a contractor.
Paula shows up as a painter.

Ok that is enough of me. Yes I am nit picking. Your images are very nice. Now let me see your image.

the real tami
hi pam, i think the site looks pretty good, the blue and black are excellent choices together.

i am agreeance with the above re pictage - i would take that out and just leave it as information, then instead of pictage as a subgallery, i would call it clients or something along those lines. the subgalleries for portraits and weddings was a little confusng too - i wold just make it one subgallery and call it something along the lines of pricing info, etc.

the information you give is a bit vague and not very personal at all, i would try to warm it up a little.

Hey guys! Thanks for the input! It really helps. Don't worry about being nit-picky because that's exactly what we need. We do have offices in Washington and So. Cal. Michael runs the washington side of the the LLC and Paula runs the So. Cal. I fly back and forth, and do both. Do you have a suggestion on making this any clearer? Open to your comments. They are really helpful.

HELP! If they google me, they will see that my day job is music, a masters degree in Opera. I don't know where the Paula the painter came in, HEEHEE! She studied Youth Ministries to be a youth pastor, and Michael is a contractor during the week. We haven't been able to support 3 photographers yet so we all work other jobs. Give me some suggestions...wording....anything!!!!

The Pictage thing is something I don't like, but I am not sure how to get out of it. We had it on the old site, and everyone is looking for that. I guess I could send out a mass e-mail to tell them how to get to their pics now that the site has changed over. What are your thoughts Hobson????

That is why my customers like me - attention to detail.

You can continue to use the word Pictage, but what happens when you give them up? I would say "Client viewing" or something like that.

In regards to your locations, what about saying something similar to actual locations? With offices in Issaquah Washington and Costa Mesa California we travel to most of our weddings and love it!

The google thing is generally solved by having enough information on your site. Oh yeah pictures are mandatory. You so do not want people searching for images of what you look like. P0rn will always show up at some point. Yep your name can be Walt Disney or Mother Theresa and something ugly will turn up. Just have some nice simple images that show you have a bit of a personality. I used the wine glass so people know it is ok to send me wine as a thank you gift for wonderful photography and great advice. wink.gif

BTW - it is perfectly fine for you to have other sources of income. That should be a goal of all photographers. Multiple streams of income is the way to keep your sanity, continue with creativity, and provides a mechanism for giving back.
