too bad they are just prototypes. plus, i would expect a $3000 to $4000 price tag.

Maybe the bottom will fall out now on the used 200 f1.8s and I could pick one of those up for $2000??
Probably not. My guess is that those who have them will still say they are superior to the 200 f2 and want the $4,000ish price for them. Can't really say I blame them.

I would have gone with one of those, except that they don't have IS and with the weight of that lens IS is a MUST. You can't shoot that lens (without a monopod) at less than a 250th of a second minimum.
I think an f2 with IS is way more valuable IMHO.

If you're Mike Colon, there's no reason not to have a MKIII and a 200 just for incidental use.
