I set up Google Analytics a few months ago.

One thing I really like is keeping track of how many people have view a slideshow and where they are from. But the shows done in the last 2 or 3 weeks don't seem to be showing up.

I checked the showit html template I am using and it still has the GA code in it--same as the others that have previously been tracked. Any idea what might be going on? GA still shows that I am receiving visitors to my site, it just doesn't seem to be keeping up with all of the content.

Does any of this make any sense? Anyone have any ideas what I might be doing incorrectly?

Ok, in your question you asnnswered a question I hadn''t voiced. I didn'g know you could embed that code in the showit HTML code. I'd like info on how to do that. My web designer set it up for me, tomorrow I may be able to forward your question on to him for input. I have a shoot this afternoon an I have to go. Sorry. Came across this post too late.

Figured it out. I had checked the template in DW and thought the code was there, but I just went through my browser to view a show and when I viewed the source--no code! So it was just a matter of missing code. I must have deleted a preference or something.

To answer your question Mark (and I'm not sure if this is the right way or not):

1. I simply made a show and exported it to the proper folder on my CPU. By doing this I created the standard Showit HTML pages.

2. I then opened that page using Dreamweaver (though you could use any text editing app.) and inserted the code provided to me by GA.

3. I then uploaded the showit folder to my server the way I always do. It can now be tracked.

4. The next time I created a show, I went to the Controls:Advanced menu.

5. At the bottom where it says "Custom HTML" I navigated back to the index.html file I previously created. The only difference bewteen this file and the standard SHOWIT file is that the GA code has now been inserted.

6. Now when my show it created I don't have to manually go back and inset the GA code. I can just create the show and upload the folders.

My problem was that I somehow de-activated the custom HTML link and was just using the standard ShowIT page. I must have deleted the ShowIT preferences somewhere along the way (using Mac).

Anyway, problem solved. Hope this helps you Mark
