At PartnerCon during the RAW biggrin.gif vs. JPEG mad.gif debate I openly and firmly stated that "I don't shoot portraits" in response to my friend Pepper Nix talking about that side of her business...so over the weekend Mrs. Kiefer, yes the wife of the mastermind of Pictage - Jason Kiefer, called and she asked me if I would shoot their Christmas card! AHHHHHH!

I know Jason was there during the debate and heard my comment so I think he might just be messing with me but I'm not sure...so I called her back and left a message and within minutes of leaving her a message I get this nice email from Beth in Sacramento!!! WOW! How convicting!!! What do I do!!!

It's funny how I was actually thinking of the whole Tim dressing up as you before I actually read it on the list!!! You may have to find him some stilts though! thumbsup.gif
Tricia
Wait I saw a family port that you did last year for x-mas!!!

Yea...but that was last year...and actually shooting that portrait for Pastor G booked me that huge wedding I shot a couple of weeks ago! It's amazing how God hooks things up sometimes!

Sick, just busting your chops biggrin.gif

Wow! Would it not be important enough to do this job considering who it is?
Frank DiMeo
Step outside the box dude. You seem to with everything else, why limit yourself inside those four walls for this one?
amber holritz
Yeah... do it... and then we can ask you to shoot some pictures of us in Vegas smile.gif And you won't be able to get by with the "I don't do it" excuse smile.gif
Sean Azul
I would definitely do it.

1. A personal favor to Jason, who has helped you. Be a Lovecat.

2. Do it in your own style. It doesn't have to be a typical "Family standing by the fireplace/Christmas Tree" shot. Take the opportunity to make it your own. Take a look at the portraits on my blog. They're not typical and I'm proud of them.

Alisha
I dont' see anything you can gain by NOT doing them. Besides you can make this ONE exception! smile.gif

Good suggestion Sean. DJ, maybe you could reinforce to her you don't normally do family portraits, but you'll make this one special/rare exception just for her. This way you're not stuck with a line of people asking for the same thing, coz they'll probably hear about it, or see your amazing pics of the family on a hill. smile.gif

Uh huh... sooooo did you just answer your own question?

Haha... but, I still have to vote for me dressing up as you. How fun would that be... hmm... mannerisms, sooo fun.

Why didn't Mrs. Kieffer ask Colon to do it? laughing.gif
Chris Humphreys

She knew he'd say no way. smile.gif She probably thinks she could push DJ around enough to do it. smile.gif

Ah Yes! Great advice! biggrin.gif
Linda
I'm actually hoping you do them. I would like to see your style of a family portrait.
Now only if they could throw in the family dog to make it interesting. lol..

If I show up on the hill can you do my xmas card as well and give me a discount since you are already there? Heck I bet a bunch would show up. It would be just like 3rd grade when we got our school photos and you could process us one after another. Well not exactly like 3rd grade as I don't think you would be as grumpy as he was. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Hey DJ, we need a family portrait too! Can you sign us up for the next time you visit Boston? Pretty please???

Ha, just kidding!

I've been starting to just focus on Weddings too,
it's alot easier biggrin.gif

If he was paying me good money to speak at his conferences and taking good care of me, covering my expenses, 86ing my monthly uploading fee's etc for hyping his site and his business (which I can assure you, you are) thumbsup.gif Id say go ahead and do it at a reasonable cost.

If none of the former is happening. NO CHANCE.

LOL... Always giving good advice Gino! smile.gif

...and if the rest of you can find the hill that I'll shoot'em on then I'll gladly shoot your family too!

I think DJ's still hoping to replicate that cool wedding party shot he did on a hillside... if only hills were portable.
