Hello All.

Totally diggin the Nikon system. And like most who choose Canon for the less noise issue, I actually dig it. But, that's not what I am asking....

I have noticed that Canon does some pretty tripped out effects with their dragging shutter effect on the second curtain sync.

How can I get my Nikon system to do that? What are the settings for a D200? And an SB-800?

Thanks for the help.

There should be a little button on the side of your camera with the universal flash symbol... Hold that and toggle the front (i think) dial. Watch the little box on the top LCD it should give you options for redeye (the eye) and Rear curtain sync.

I tried that. Does anything need to be set on the strobe? What would be a good shutter test?

Specifically, you want it to say "Slow Rear" in the display. You can set the strobe to TTL or TTL-BL.

A good test shot would be anything where you want to register a lot of ambient light and freeze the action.

a good test would be to set your shutter to 1/2 second or so and if the flash comes on at the end of the shutter click, you're gold. wink.gif
