Hi all..! (as I sayd laugh.gif )

I'm Max, from Trieste, Italy. Trieste is a little city in the NorthEast of Italy, near the borterline with Slovenia. We are also from 2 hours by Venice.. yes.. that Venice biggrin.gif

You can call me Max, or Vulcan. Why this nick? Because I'm a biker and I ride a Kawasaky Vulcan. Simple.

I'm not a photographer but I love to photograph a lot.. I started to see this forum and I got impressed about the kind of beautiful pictures I saw here.

I love to shot just for fun, and I hope to be accepted between you, even if I'm not a pro.

My work here in Italy is art director. I'm a freelancer. Sometimes I have to work with pictures, making better the colors, or using more complex commands.

I hope to have the possibility to look around your posts and learn something about your art.

Usually I shot everything, after that all my pictures must be modified by me and my friend Mr. Photo Shop! laughing.gif

Also.. I hope you understand my english.. so forgive my mistakes!

Max

(here is time to go to sleep.. have a nice day there!)

Max,

Welcome! I'm so glad you decided to post on our forum! Your English is wonderful and I understood everything perfectly. I also work as a creative director for my job... Does your business have a website I can visit? I'd LOVE to see your work!!!
Adam Squier
Welcome to the forum. I'll try to get some folks from CH (er, Switzerland) on here to keep up with the International theme we got going. Half my family lives over there.

Max, Great to have you here!!! And thanks for the message you sent on my site!
You're gonna love being around all these people. And you'll definitely get some ideas for future pictures. Post up any new things you try out.
Shua
Oh yea, one more important tip for this forum:

Watch out for anyone with the initials D.J.! He's always making up rules like "don't shoot family portraits" and then changing his mind... UGH!! smile.gif

Hi Guys,

Thank you so much for the prompt reply and for the pretty things you said to me! biggrin.gif

I discovered this forum because, surfing the web, I've found Tim's Blog, and after that I'm entering into a really interesting world..

My path into that pass through the website of David Jay.. so I think he is the SAME DJ you are speakin' about! laughing.gif

..well..

Shua:
I have a page here:
http://www.revolvingimage.com/
This is one of my first website jobs.. it has been done a lot of time ago, but I have not so much time to project a new one for myself..

After that, I suggest you to see another one, a band website:
http://www.revolvingimage.com/rhaband
This was done a lot of years too (1998-99), but.. I dedicated so much work to it and I love to present it.

About my work, I projected books, websites, stationery images and other things for every client. Try to look at these (also that is not so updated.. sorry unsure.gif )
http://www.revolvingimage.com/resume/gallery/art.html
http://www.revolvingimage.com/resume/gallery/print.html
http://www.revolvingimage.com/resume/gallery/web.html
As you will notice some pages are in italian, here a lot of people are not able to read and understand english.

I hope you will be glad to surf into my works, as I will be to see your work too! thumbsup.gif

and... oh my..! I was going to start posting a family portrait just for you my new friends! laughing.gif laughing.gif

I just hope to get the time to post my pictures (that ones that I believe they are interesting) and I want to post things about retouching pictures.. as I said, I'm a photoshop user.. so I can share with you something, if you need.

Asquier,
I could say that the half of your family is my neighbor! biggrin.gif I think CH is 4-5 hours by me!

Jefferson,
I was impressed by your pictures.. really. As I am impressed about all the pictures I saw here and into your websites! I have a lot to learn from you.. and this is fantastic.

Trew,
Thank you, I'm glad to stay here.. and I'm sure I will love it! biggrin.gif

Ok, it's my time... I have to retourn back to work wink.gif (I am very slow to write in english, and I must steal time to my work to do that.. so not all the time I can do it sad.gif).

Take care of you and have a nice day!

Max

Hi Frank,

May I ask you what does mean "piason"..

Your family is from L'Aquila? Great.. I think you must plan to visit your origin places..

I love to visit the villages where my family was born, but I'm lucky, they are from places around 200 kilometers by me.

Nice day!

Max

Benvenuto Max!!

Awesome stuff!! Looks like you've had the opportunity to do work for some pretty neat companies:)

I have a real appreciation who are Flash / design / creative dir pros...I'm sure a lot of us will have plenty to learn from you thumbsup.gif

We do a lot of the same things ... newsletters...brochures... sites, etc. (I do this for another co. in addition to my photo biz) ...mostly the art-direction and project-management and copywriting stuff. It would take me WAY too long to do the design too!! Do you do get to do the technical stuff as well?

Oh - and ignore DJ's antics about language...he just gets jealous when he can't get in on the conversation and has to translate;) And your English is wonderful !

Ciao

Hey Max, I'm not sure if I spelled it right but that is what Italians over here say to each other when they meet. It means fellow Italian or from the same place. Other american slang similar to it would be Bro- like my brother/good friend, or homey- like from the same place. Do you guys have any slang words for something like this? If so what do they mean?
Catch ya later homey.
ciao

Ciao carissima Liana!

Thank you for your kind words! smile.gif

I think in our life we can learn from every person, and we have to share something with others, if possible.. so I hope I will be able to give you something of my knowledge thumbsup.gif

During my work (actually I work givin' priority to Generali Group, the third insurance company in Europe) I do not have to think to the copywriting stuff because they have their own department. So they give me the articles about the Group, and other stuff, and I have to give it a form. They have a very strict way to see their publications, but it gives me the opportunity to emprove myself with the most important brand in the Italian market.
And, yes, for other smallest clients I have to do the same work you do smile.gif

Ok I will ignore DJ's antics.. so I will give him the opportunity to translate something : "ciao DJ, non essere geloso se non capisci quello che scrivo, chissà se un giorno ti insegnerò qualche modo di dire della mia lingua!"

Liana, take care of you and un bacio grande per te!

Max

Hey Frank, maybe you were thinking about PAISA'??? I think you did!

Paisa' is the slang of the word "paesano" that means: "peasant"

In other words, it arrives by "ancient" italians, when they left Italy to transfer in other countries, like USA, Australia, South America.. They were paesantry, for the biggest part of them. This because Italy was a rural country 'till the IIWW

Today in Italy we do not use this kind of greeting.

We use to say a simple "ciao" or "heyla", that means "hey there", "salve" that is a greeting form without a translation. These are informal greetings.

I hope to have explained it in a good and simple way.

Sometimes, for me, is very difficult to write in english, and my friends do not have my bravery to do that.. the difficult thing is to write in your language complex concepts than a simple "i am from italy, my dog is under the table, my uncle has a pen, blablablabla..." ph34r.gif ohmy.gif laughing.gif

It will be fantastic, for me, to aquire a good writing speacking with you here.

See ya Frank!

Salve Max and thank you for enlightening me. Paesano was what I was trying to say and I never knew that is where it came from. Makes sense though because most Italians over here sometimes use words like that in a funny kind of way.
Your stuff is way cool, awesome. The music is great too. I am a huge Peter Gabriel fan. My sons name is Gabriel. I have never seen "Wonder of the Leaf" or "Salmacis" anywhere. Do you know where I can get copies of them that would play on our equipment in the states? When did they come out? The covers are beautiful...pure Peter Gabriel. Also a King Crimson fan. I think we share a lot of the same taste for music. My favorite is Pink Floyd, and now Roger Waters. I saw the last three US shows that Floyd ever played together as a band-The Wall 1980 and have seen Gabriel many times. Did you know that a new Kate Bush is due out in November? Oh ho oh...looking out for that one. The sounds on the first sight when you mouse over the buttons reminded me of Floyd, then when I saw your Gabriel stuff...wow.
I am so looking forward to learning much from you about life as you live it in Italy.
Alisha
Pink Floyd rocks! That's my husband fav band in the entire world. That's when he knew he would marry me is when I played wish you were here on the guitar for him!

He is so pissed at that other guy, not roger waters. What's his deal man? Get over it! We want a US TOUR BABY! Hey Frank you should come to St. Louis in DEC!! They have the best pink floyd show in the entire country every year around x-mas time. Not Austrilian pink floyd.
I'm serious though, it's known though out the country. Best live pink floyd tribute you will EVER see. EVER.

Ricky was gonna go to England for live 8 but he couldn't get tickets. haha! We TiVo'd it.

Can you believe I still haven't seen anything from the reunion. It is coming out soon though and I can't wait. I have been a Floydian ever since my parents introduced me to the Dark Side over thirty years ago. Tell Ricky we need to talk...I probably would have married you too...
Alisha
Opps I meant to say that's the ONLY reason why he married me cause I knew a few floyd songs on the guitar. HAHA!

Man I GOT TO stop hi-jacking threads. smile.gif

I'm not kidding though. You have to come to the Lou and see that show.

Heila Frank! smile.gif

Thanks for viewin my stuff, it's not all but I haven't so much time to dedicate to updating my works sad.gif
The works you've seen into my pages are not works by Gabriel but works I did with a friend and we presented to Gabriel. That time he was not so interested in it he was going through a new direction with his Real World Studios.
I am a KC fan. But I like also other kind of music like rock, metal, folk.. everything who can feel me thrilled. I've been playing the drums for a decade, and I was playing with bands of every kind of music, because I think you can find interesting points in every music genre.

I don't know what kind of thing Kate is going to give us but I think it will be really nice, thinking to the stuff she did smile.gif

About the life here in Italy I have to say a lot, and I'll be happy to do it. Here we have not your big reality, everything is smaller, but you have interesting things like small medieval villages, and particular uses rising from ancient ages.

Just consider I live in a place who is different from the others in Italy. I live near Slovenia, Croatia and Austria.. My town has been, for 700 years, under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. So we have a lot of traditions who came from this culture. We are a mix of cultures!
