Nice find Tony!!! I wonder if this is an indication of the next version coming out soon (I hope it is!). This will be -very- nice if the rebate program kicks off for this as well - it'd bring the total cost of a 5D down below $2000!

Costco has just dropped the price as well. $2299 including shipping smile.gif

That's an insane deal... I don't have one (Nikon guy, you got a problem with that? smile.gif ) but if I were swinging Canon I'd hop on this.

$2299 at KEH as well.
Tracy Rainwater
WOW, I spent almost a grand more than that on mine. I guess that's what you get for being the "first kid on the block" with a shiny new 5D.

hmmmm. Just checked back at B&H and price went up to $2349? Still a drop from the original but what's that all about? It's still down to 2299 at Costco though. Fingers still crossed for rebates! Any word on if Canon is doing that again?

I'm pretty sure Canon will do it. They practically do every year. It should be out in a week or so (15th I believe). They currently have it for Canada and the 5d is listed on there.. I'm sure the US would be up soon after.

They *always* raise the prices when rebates come out. The only way you save money with rebates is when you're combining your camera body purchase with a lot of lenses.

Sounds like they are blowing out the stock of 5D's to make room for 5D mkII's smile.gif
If there is a rebate I doubt the will be as much as last year ($600 when you bought a lens) otherwise they would cannibalize 40D sales not to mention kill the used market. But yeah, if they got down to $1600 after rebate it would be really hard to not justify getting a 3rd body!

+1

Usually the fall rebates give an indication of whats coming in Feb. What I really want is those double and triple rebates on L glass!

next gen 5D bring it on!

less shutter lag, same button layout as 1D, better high ISO noise.

everything else could stay that same and I'd be happy!
