My wife had terrible banding on her 5D, from this weekend. It started during the reception...about the time we screwed a Canon E2 battery pak on the bottom of her camera. Yep, sure enough, that was it. The pak was attached to run along the same axis as the lens.

I searched and saw it has happened with the Quantum paks as well. Just something to think about.
