At yesterday's wedding, the bride and groom were awesome people. They told me they'd be doing a "dip" to end their first dance, and I was ready for it. Unfortunately, so was a guest in the crowd who was standing directly across from me. Their flash fired the moment I was getting the shot and as a result, the brides' face is a lens flare. I tried the recovery tool in Lightroom but didn't have much luck. It's not as if it's a tremendously important shot, but I'd love to save it if possible. Does anyone have any ideas?

Imo, just go with the effect.

Here's my take (hope you don't mind it):

+1, I think you can use it as a creative tool. You shot the moment, that's what happened, don't fret over it! I do like the BW conversion.

That's such a shame... sometimes when this happens (guest firing flash at the same time) it works out to your advantage, like off-camera lighting without having to work for it. Alas, it's not super reliable. smile.gif

Yeah, one of my favorite shots is when something similar happened. The b&g were kissing during their first dance and a guests' flash in the bg provided an awesome effect. This would have been equally cool, if only it hadn't obscured part of the bride's face. smile.gif

Thanks for the feedback everyone. It does look pretty neat in b&w. Still with that flash had been a few feet to the side though. smile.gif

i played with it earlier myself - i ran a black and white action on it and called it art. fixed! clap.gif

It's not a very good shot to start with - a bad angle and ugly background.

With shots like these, you really have to stage them and do them several times to get a good one.
