I still have never used photoshop or anything but my iphoto program to edit....so I have no idea how to edit photos.
We have photoshop cs..but I don't know how to use it at all, and the guy at the photo store here in the mall suggested to me to get the Nikon Capture 4 program as well as photoshop...
Does anyone else suggest the same? It costs about $100 I think, and I don't want to waste my money if I don't need it.

Unless you want to shoot teathered (Direct from Camera to Computer) which Capture does. I would'nt bother with it.

Spend the $100 on a couple good PS books or a good DVD. Photoshop in my opinion is all you need and more.

Better yet... Become a member of NAAP National Association of Photoshop Professionals. It cost about $100 and comes with a subscription to Photoshop User Mag which is a fantastic magazine if you use PS.

There's also a ton of free online tutorials for members.

Just my 2 cents

I'll second Alan! Nikon Capture is a little more accurate in the rendering of your Nikon Camera's white balance (at least in the case of the D1X), but CS2 and the Bridge are a lot better use of your money! You can develop a really good workflow with the Bridge, whereas Capture Editor is not as user-friendly!

Thanks Guys,
I don't think I am going to go for the Nikon program after-all. The only camera store around here is Ritz Camera, and those guys get commison, so I am pretty sure they try and sell you on EVERYTHING!!
Now all I have to do is learn photoshop. blink.gif
