Ive just posted my most recent slideshow, the bride loves it, her friends and family are raving about it, but to me, it doesn't look CLEAR. I don't know why. Originally, I uploaded large file size, but then I read that it could be the problem. So, I re sized my photos to 72dpi adn tried again, and got the same results. My slideshow SHOULD look clearer right?
It is the wedding of Jordan and Jake and the url to the slideshow is here if you want to takea look:

I'd like to correct this if possible, any info or tips are always welcome, thanks smile.gif

Hey Jen smile.gif - The show that I'm seeing looks wonderful so maybe you already fixed it. There is a quality adjustment within the program that you can adjust to your taste but again beautiful show and it's no wonder they love it!

Rock on,

Nice slideshow!! Where is the quality adjustment? (maybe my wife already knows this since she does all the slideshows), but I often think the slideshows are fuzzy.

I'm guessing either the JPEG quality setting (defaults to 75) or the slide movement setting (defaults to 4). The latter can have a surprising impact on how well the show plays on older computers, but it was more likely the former, which can only be set during show creation. So far I've found 75 works well :-).

EDIT: I liked the show too. Great choice of song, and I especially loved the available light stuff at the reception!

I was having the same problem...here is what I was doing...

I would export my selection from Lightroom and have it reduce the file size...then I would create the Showit slideshow and it would resize the files again...I think this is where the quality loss occurs.

If I export the files from Lightroom as full size, then create the slide show, the quality is 100% better!

Hmmm, this is good to read. The slideshow's posted on the showitfast website look awesome, but my friends who have the program and send me links, always appear to have fuzzy, chunky looking images. It's the only thing that's been holding me back from getting it, so I'll have to play with the things I've read here.
ETA, I just watched Jen's slideshow and it did not appear sharp or clear to me at all, it had that same fuzziness and chunking going on?? I tried it on both my HP laptop, and my husbands Mac desktop. It didn't even look close to the samples I see on the showit site or in DJ's post, it looks like the same thing I have seen in other colleagues showit slideshows. Is there a reason for this, above what's already been posted??

Showit Web gives you full compression control and one of the greatest features of Showit Web is that a Showit Web show can look so much clearer than other slideshow programs that compress to video files like a .MOV file or something.

All my shows are made the same way as everyone elses and the only reason any image in a show would appear blurry is if somebody zoomed way into an image. If you do have an image that you put a big zoom on then you may want to replace it with a higher res file inside the "images" folder.

If you want to always give yourself freedom to zoom way in on any image just create your Showit Web Showit at 640x480 and then use Showit Web's resize feature to display it at 600x400 and then you have some room to play with on your zooms.

Hope this helps.

Jen's picks are beautiful but they are highly compressed. I'm not sure if she compressed them before bringing them into Showit Web or has Showit Web compressing them a lot but yea as I watched the show currently at that link there certainly is a lot of compression on the images.

Here's an example:

Yes! That's exactly what I am talking about, thanks so much for this info! An explanation/corrective action really helps! This has been driving me nuts for awhile, because I have seen some that look darn near perfect, and then I get links from friends' recent weddings and I'm thrown again, they look compressed. Thanks Again!

Here is a show I made allowing Showit to perform all of the compression (before show creation - files were 3-5mb in size, after show creation 48-91kb)

I think the quality (besides a couple of picks) is where it should be now...phew 04.gif
