Full Version: Nikonians: G and D lens differences?

Maybe I should know this, but I don't so this may seem like a silly post but for the life of me I get so confused about the differences in Nikon glass. I know that DX lenses are specifically for the digital cameras (until the D3 comes out with the full frame), but I don't know the difference between the other stuff. Can someone please explain? I'm so not good at the technical end of things, but I want to make sure that when I'm buying new stuff I KNOW what things mean and what's going to get me the photos I want.

EDIT: Oh and what about ED too? I just saw that on B&H.

Thanks!

Thanks Damon! I printed that for reference because I definitely won't remember it all!

I didn't like the one I was using, so I inserted one of my heroes -- Bob Ross. (RIP)

I guess I'll switch back to one of my other ones.
