I freaking love it. I'm writing this response with it right now. I definitely wouldn't think twice about picking a pair up, especially with the rediculous drop in price.

Mine is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.... I can't wait I think I am going to LOVE it.

We have two and regret the decision to switch to the iPhone for phone reasons.

It all depends on your carrier. If you're happy with your coverage and you're with AT&T already then maybe the iPhone would be a good purchase.

We were with Verizon before using a Palm Treo 650 and 600. The coverage and reception were excellent. We didn't use data and really underutilized the Treo altogether, but...

The reception with the iPhone is mediocre at best and we've had more dropped calls and "Call Failed" problems in two months than we had in 6 years. We lose coverage in our local supermarket, inside of stores, and in quite a few non-remote sections of town.

With that said, I'm actually listening to music on my iPhone at this very moment and used the iPhone's Safari over lunch to check the entire year's business AMEX purchases.

As a telephony/music/web/email gadget it is tops, IMO. As a phone it's pretty darn awful. Don't even bother trying to use speakerphone on the iPhone either...

I feel vindicated--my husband has one & I swear he sounds 20x worse than he used to over this thing.....and we were already AT&T customers. I think as a phone, it's really so-so.

Having said that....yes, I'm still getting one by December. Way too much other coolness involved.

I just got one yesterday and have had no problems. Edge network is not blazing fast but it still works well. The wifi has been excellent in my case.

Keep in mind there is no MMS so pictures have to be emailed out and the camera does not take video.

Email, SMS, Ipod, and YouTube have been the best!

I don't talk much so the having an ok phone is alright by me!

freaking love it. att coverage has been flawless everywhere I am, and if I do a little dance in canada I can even unroam myself over the border and back into the united states.

Love it! The actual phone service is not great, but for organization and entertainment.. worth every penny to us.

thanks everyone! so it sounds like overall everyone loves it, but the phone part of it isn't great . . .

I think it's overrated, but I guess a lot of things are. Reception is really bad compared to my old cell phone carrier. My husband thinks it's the best cell ever created so I am giving him the iphone and I will keep my old phone. Thankfully I did not cut off the service!
