Full Version: Online proofing?

I know this is off-topic, but I'm not quite to the point where I need Pictage yet. I know quite a few of you use Skooks for online proofing, but I'm not willing to shell out that much yet.

I was using Picture Proofs (pictureproofs.com) for a couple of months. Everything seemed to be going well. I could upload my photos, add a black/white and sepia feature, set prices and sizes, password protect galleries, etc. The orders would come in and I would fulfill them myself. Unforunately, Picture Proofs closed without notice leaving me hanging! They still owe me money too! mad.gif

Does anyone know of a script or anything of the sorts that I can use for a temporary online proofing? I'm in a pickle right now with my clients!

I can install the free trial of EZPhotoSales for you today.
You can get started using it pretty quickly.
Just email info@ezphotosales.com and we'll get it set up for you.
The free trial is fully-functional, so you can start taking orders right away.
You'll need webspace on a Linux server (that's what most people have) and a PayPal account to get the order moola.

There are other proofing options, too, but the EZPhotoSales free trial is something you can get going today and give it a whirl without spending any money.

I currently use Instaproofs....but will likely be moving over to a hosted solution like EZPhotoSales in a few months. Instaproofs is free to use...you pay when people order (they take a percentage of the sales). You choose your own printer, etc...

+1 for instaproofs. If you are looking for a place just to host your images online, that is definitely the way to go as it is FREE. No out of pocket whatsoever. I use them for everything (ordering and proofing etc) and I love them. But that is just me...

Instaproofs is EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Picture proofs had the same back end/front end concept, except their customer service is terrible. Thank you!

I am sorry to hear that. That is exactly my concern with all these services.

By what I have heard here stay away from Skooks Kart.

You may want to check Photocart

Have a look at the thread I posted on the Products / Services board, currently working on a self-hosted solution that allows you to do all this but also automatically creates the proofs for you from the originals... so you don't need to go through and add the tones, cropping, etc yourself unless you really want to.

It is going to be a month, at least, before it's ready for the first users.

I haven't did anything online until recently, and I didn't want to get into pictage and pay monthly fees without having a ton of stuff to put on there, so I checked out some posts on here, and started using Instaproofs and I am really pleased.

So +2 for Instaproofs! I thought it was very easy to use too.

I love the fact that you don't have to pay any random subscription fees or pay to join.
