Am I reading the photo data wrong or does it say the D300 photo is at ISO 200? Who cares Nikon. The Nikons haven't had problems with noise at ISO 200. What is going to convince people of throwing down some money on some new equipment is if they can get results out of the new camera they COULDN'T get out of the current equipment. Given the same conditions, lighting ect. our current Nikon cameras I believe could get the same results as this sample image.

Am I missing something.........................

You're not missing anything, that sucks. That's why I said "I like what I see @ ISO 3200 & 6400 for the D3", specially the photo shot @ 6400 which was shot at similar conditions I shoot at all the time.

I don't understand what are you saying... In that page there are samples of 6400 and 3200.Also look here .. all the way to 12800.

Yeah, I think that Nikon posting D300 image samples at ISO 200 is irrelevant 'cuz as far as I know, no DSLR gets images noisy at that ISO, so who cares what the images look like at that ISO. I want to know what the D300 images look like at ISO 1600 and ISO 3200, but I'll say that if the D300's images at ISO1600 looking like my current D200's look at ISO 800, I am sold on it. If they are better, then all the better.

The other concern I have is if those files are SOOC and if they were shot at JPEG for both the D3 and D300. The reason I care is because I would like to see that the same noise reduction and handling is also true for RAW images, since I only shoot RAW.

Ummmm......that just seems shady to me. Like they're trying to hide the fact that the D300 may not have any improved usability over the D200 in the noise dept. I know they're tryin to push the D3, but still....not everyone wants to plop $5k on a camera body, full frame or otherwise. I can't believe they're not showing any images over 200 ISO from the D300......

They're just creating anticipation by releasing the information slowly. These products are not ging to be out until the end of November.
