So we had this idea to do a package called "9 Months". Basically we have been shooting this couple for 1 - 1/2 hours every 4-6 weeks ever since they found out they were pregnant. We started shooting at about 8 weeks into the pregnancy.

So far we have done several shoots including an ultrasound visit. The plans are to attend the birth and shoot wih tactfulness and then up to the first month after the baby is born.

Tell me what you think about the concept. Too much work, too boring, ...

Great idea clap.gif . Amazing to see her belly grow. I hope it pays of for you financially--it is a lot of work, seems like.

Wow that's really cool. I love the shots of them getting the ultrasound. There's one that looks like she's wiping a tear away. They're going to relive that moment every time they see that picture.

I think it is a wonderful gift you are doing for these people. However I personally would not offer these to my clients. It would not be financially realistic to spend that amount of time and get reimbursed each visit to make it worth while.
I would do it for a good friend though as a gift.
Just one small piece of advise, that song on your slideshow is copyrighted and the family of that artist have been known to go after photographers and others using it in slideshows and on their websites without permission.
Might want to think carefully about using non RF music when posting the slideshow publically. Just thought I let you know in case you were not aware of that.

I thought it was very, very cool!

That was really beautiful! I wish I had something like that from my pregnancy! I'm really mad that my delivery room shots were not very good. My best friend took them and she really has no idea how to use her camera even thought she pretends to.

Truly amazing. Beautiful images. Great memories. Looking forward to the rest as well.

Awesome ! I think you will have yourself a client for life.

I think it's a great idea!! I know alot of women from our playgroup who had to go through so much with fertility treatments (me inlcluded) and who feel so blessed with every moment of their pregnancy (even the bloated, sore back, morning sickness parts wacko.gif ) and would love to have it all captured.

How do you price something like that? Is it extremely expensive? Would love to know what your clients are willing to pay for that coverage.
Amy Clark
As long as you are able to price it right, this may make you a niche in the market, a creative product others do not offer.

I agree, if they are willing to put the work into this package to have sessions that often, they are probably also going to go back to you to have regular child sessions or family portraits taken. It will all depend upon how you work your business plan.

Very cool. I love it.

Thanks for all your comments guys! I did this entire shoot pro-bono just trying to figure out the hours involved and whether a couple would be up for a monthly shoot and also allowing me in the delivery room (rather than mom, sister...etc.) It answered a lot of questions for sure.

1. It is tough shooting the same couple and trying to get different looks in each.

2. Including the delivery it was 35 hours of shooting!

3. Getting in the L&D with a camera and NOT being family is difficult.

4. This shoot would cost way more than what anybody would reasonably pay. Probably $3500+ for just my time without product.

So, I don'y offer the 9-month package yet until I can come up with a more reasonable pricing structure.
