Hi Gloria, OSP changed my life not long ago. I told the story before... the short version is that OSP member Chris Humphreys gave me the opportunity to shoot my first wedding ever with him and of course I found out Chris was looking for a 2nd shooter here in the Hook'em up section. Most of the things that I learned about wedding photography prior to shooting one also came from here.

When I was starting in wedding photography I looked for information in Spanish first since it's my 1st language but I couldn't find a single forum worth reading; still today I can't find a lot... after what OSP did for me I decided to try and change that for my Spanish speaking friends and just created forodefotografos.com

I had the pleasure to chat with David Jay a couple of days ago @ PartnerCon L.A. and shared this idea with him and he was very supportive, he even was ok with me matching in Spanish the topics OSP has since they work so well.

I attribute a great part of what's going on today in my life to OSP and many of the members here... very happy about it and very thankful.

it has helped me take some of my own ideas and make them grow into even better ideas as far as my marketing goes. it has helped me make important purchase decisions as well. probably a lot of other little things too. great place. wub.gif

Wow Rodolfo. That's amazing that you started that site. I'm sure it will take off!

As far as OSP goes, I'd have to say the tone of Jillian's letters have influenced me quite a bit in terms of how to approach clients. Also, just seeing so much fantastic work has helped me succeed because it pushes me to improve.

Organizing the Emergency Phone List is my way of giving back. smile.gif

I have learned more here from some of the greatest Professional Photographers than anywhere else on the web. Where else can I get opinions from the tops in the industry for this price of admission?

It has been said, "Freely you have received, freely give." That would describe the vibe around here and that is something I plan to do with the rest of my days. For every up and comer that I encounter, I will remember the kindness (and cat fights offtopic.gif ) that has been extended to me.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are in good company!

Rodolpho - That is a wonderful project you have begun and how exciting to create something that will give back in so many ways to the spanish speaking community.

OSP has been such a valuable resource for me in every aspect of my skill and business beginnings. Being involved in this network of tallented professionals has not only strengthened my weaknesses but confirmed my strengths. I am so thankful for all the friends here, many of you have taught me to reach for the stars!!

LOL, if anything it's a hindrance!! Instead of reading stupid posts about MAC vs PC or Canon vs Nikon, etc... I should have been editing!

Naw, it's a cool place. It's a great for getting a few ideas, helping others, and exchanging info... but I have to be careful with the time spent on it.

Cheers,
Michael

the biggest thing for me has been the relationships. it was actually the hope of finding others near me with similar attitudes and visions that got me excited about osp in the first place. it took awhile, but the friendships that have now become a part of my everyday life are invaluable. i wouldn't give them up if you paid me enough to quit my day job. thumbsup.gif
