Full Version: Is DRM-Free the same as Royalty-Free?
OpenSourcePhoto > YA wanna FIGHT! > Music Copyright

I'm not quite understanding how the DRM-Free music works ... I was under the assumption that once you paid for it you can do whatever you like with it ... does that include using it on our websites?

Does anyone know how this works? And what the difference is?

Thanks!!
Melody
You can't use it commercially (i.e. on your website). You can do whatever you want with it for personal use only.

DRM free simply means there is no impediments to reproduction; similar to a watermark in a photograph. It has little to do with copyright or usage rights. Think of an image on your website, it may not be watermarked, and someone could eaisy save a copy of the image, but they would not have rights to use that image unless you specifically gave them that right.
