<sigh>
to follow up from the "show my your business cards" thread...
after all the warnings to not use overnight prints I did... sad.gif
The warnings were for colors- so I thought to take a chance as I really loved the idea of jonathan thrashers cards... I esp. liked the added rounded corners.
Being able to by less and more variety was appealing as well.
so-- "overnight" took a well over a week blink.gif

relieved that the color was right one
-but-
the rounded corners are jacked! mad.gif

1 out of four designs showed up actually semi symetrical, while
the others have at least one corner that is more jagged then round.
not worth my $2 !!

the top two are -decent- one of the bottom corners of the green is messed up but can't spend too much time in rescanning.

but check out the pink right corner and the black left corner....

grrr....

I just asked them about the inconsistencies on one of my orders, and they said the rounded corners are hand-cut, hence the problems. Just send them back and get a refund.

I just sent back letterhead that had black marks all over it. They said that the orders are NOT checked after production and if they were, it would slow things down. I said I'd be happy to wait an extra day if it meant someone would actually LOOK at the thing before they ship it.

I might continue to use them for cards, but letterhead I'll have to think twice about.

I've had good luck with them but I was warned about the rounded corners in advance, so I never tried them. $50 for 1000 cards with glossy full color on both sides is pretty cool, and being able to do small runs for special events is nice too.

You have to pay extra for the 'overnight' part, if you do the low cost shipping they take a week to print instead of a day. Their customer service is pretty lackluster, but overall I'm impressed enough with the cost/quality to still be getting my cards there...

And they end every call with, "Have I provided you with excellent service today?"

thats funny-
yeah- I would totally wait a day instead of the wasted time shipping back and reprinting!

I ditched Overnight from my vendor list for three reasons:

*Not overnight unless you pay crazy crazy CRAZY fees to get it overnight. Normal service takes a full two weeks to get to my house.

* Color and printing quality were inconsistent and unreliable.

* The "not overnight" thing really bothered me since that's their NAME.

Three strikes you're out.

Good luck getting a refund...they messed up my cards and I emailed and called for 2 weeks and had to threaten to report them to the BBB before they'd give me my refund. sad.gif

well- i called and though there system is kind of courteous in letting me know I was the "10th caller in line" it took freakin' 35 minutes for them to get to me... *not* exagerating!

they reprinting them... but gosh- what a PIA.

I didn't know that overnight wasn't really overnight... I so needed these like- last week! Now I have to wait a whole 'nother week. sad.gif
poopy overnight. i really a hating the excuse that the rounded corners are cut by hand. doesn't that mean the person cutting it should have been doing it right?? for some reason, it would seem more acceptable if it were an error my a machine, not checked, and then sent out. instead idiot cutting them crappy (3 times mind you), overlooking it, and still sending them out anyway-- well that's just unexcusable.

got print is on my list next... smile.gif

You might try 48hourprint. I haven't tried their rounded corners, but the printing quality was outstanding.

+1 on the www.gotprint.com - !!!!

I use them for ALL my printed materials - great prices, super turnaround, and fantastic looking product. Great CS too - if you haven't created a job correctly, (bleeds, margins, etc) they won't print it until it's right.

Sounds kinda familiar to me... laughing.gif

All the best,
