Full Version: Why does Bridge show icon instead of image?
OpenSourcePhoto > Digital Photography > Post Processing > Bridge

I've noticed that when I open up Bridge lately to a folder of JPEG's it only shows about 2/3 of them. The others only have the JPEG icon.

Is this like Lightroom - do I need to build preview or something?

It makes Biridge annoying as I cant use it to look through folders.

Hmm...the only time I've seen Bridge do that is in my wife's scrapbooking directory where the files are 200+MB in size. The setting for that is Tools->Preferences->Advanced and putting a large number in the "Do not process files larger than ___" box. Since you're dealing with jpegs, can they be thumnailed with another program?

Are you using a distributed cache or a central cache? I've got Bridge set to use distributed cache files, mainly to keep the cache off of my laptop's hard drive. You can flush the cache for the directory Tools->Cache->Purge cache for this folder.

Hope this helps...

That was it! Thanks! I hate it when it happens!!

The only problem I can see that causing is that is says it will clear the ratings for any of the files in that folder if you refresh the cache - does this happen?

Or you can try Shift Command H... build high rez previews... that might work, too.
