We met Ben & Dee a few months ago when they moved here to Charleston. They're both super nice, very laid-back, and easy going. Their wedding is NEXT Saturday & they just got a call from their photographer saying he was in a fire accident and burned his hand- and can't shoot their wedding!!

They want just ceremony coverage and a few group shots- so maybe 1hr. When asked about their budget they said a couple hundred? So I guess pay based on experience. This could be a great portfolio opportunity- the ceremony is at an outdoor chapel overlooking the mountains! They are in their mid-20s, got a few tattoos, very outgoing, with a hippie flare.

post your info below if you're available.

thanks! smile.gif

I'm available for that date. My website is at www.dowlingphotography.org. I am located in Spartanburg so just the next county over for me. :-) My prices are on the website, a little higher than $200, but we could work something out. My email address is dowlingphoto@aol.com. Thanks!!

Who was it that burned his hand, do you know? I wonder why he isn't finding someone to help them.

An experienced photographer knows better than this. No gig, no matter how "just" the couple says it is, is maybe an hour.

And let's not count the time to prep, travel, and process afterwards.

I think if we're all pros here, we need to not be fostering the "they just want an hour" mindset.

Wow. I'm just trying to help.

We would definitely do the gig as photographers/guests, it's going to be a very fun party. However we are booked for Saturday. I understand this is not a big budget thing, that's why I mentioned it would be great for experience and portfolio work. The couple is not expecting DJ or Becker caliber work. We all have to start somewhere....

I have actually asked around today. I can't find anyone that's available to do it. I am in Greenville so I will keep asking around.

Thanks Jason! I actually had 3 people respond offering to shoot. Ah, the LOVE of osp wub.gif

I asked the bride what's up with the original photographer and he's having surgery on his hand this week. However he still offered to shoot the wedding?!? The surgery is on his right hand... not sure how that would work. At least he is willing to let them out of their contract.
