I see that there is a conference / get together for the OSP'ers in CA...! What fun that would be! Anybody on the East Coast (preferably around VA, NC, SC) up for doing something like that in the future or know of anything happening already???

Maybe we could even get a weekend retreat going where some of the top photo peeps could come do a seminar type weekend followed by a shoot in some remote area, ie, waterfalls, mountains, beach etc., etc. etc.! Everyone just relaxing and getting to know each other better and especially learning from one another!

What do you all think?

NorthWest SC or NC

Plans are in the works for an East Coast Strobist Meet, after the wildly popular success of the Florida Strobist Meet. Now were at an East Coast, West Coast lighting battle!! The event will be held around next spring, in N or S Carolina. Will be a 2-3 day event!

October 21st is the Georgia Strobist Meet, at Hard Labor Creek State Park.

I would imagine there are lots of Strobists on OSP

I would be down. Keep in mind that OSP Nawlins is basically taking the place of OSP-South this year. I still would be up for a meet though. There are so many places that would be cool!

I would be in. We have been trying to get something in this area for a while. NC would be best for me if it is between NC and SC (but VA would be best). And yeah, a weekend, winter time, would be best.

But I am glad to see so many of us interested! And that there are other things happening! Who says that CA has to have all the fun!!!!
I am not the greatest at organizing these kinds of events, but hopefully now that so many of us are interested, we can make something happen!

I would be willing to help in anyway possible!

Maybe if we got enough small groups going...we could have David Jay, Mike Colon or others come out this way for seminars or just relationship building!

Depending on when it was held, I'd be up for it. Sounds like a good time.

Asheville, NC area would be good. With the photogs we have there we would have no prob setting up model shoots there either. Charleston would also be a good place.

NC - I am 1hr 30min south of Charlotte, 2hr south of Raleigh, and 3hr 30min south east of Asheville.

SC - I am 45 in north of Florence, 1hr 45 min north of Columbia, 2hr 30 min north west of Charleston.


So ... NC or SC are both good for me, but with enough advanced notice, I can travel further.


At what point do we nail down when and where?
