It's official. Nevermind the too much to do, stressful, wiggy, crazy side of this work. Who cares when you get to do shoots like this! I had so much fun I almost hyperventilated! Sometimes I feel like I should be paying someone to let me do this. Then I come to my senses...

Seriously, I hope they're even remotely as good as it felt to make them. It was the day after the wedding so there was no way to get everyone up for the good light. Nothing like a challenge! Hot, direct, midday Texas sun. Yeeeeeeehaaaawwww!

i LOVE the ones at the Cadillac Ranch!

Gourgeous! All of them! I used to live in Amarillo! The cadillac Racnh is very cool, but what gets me most are all of the weird signs in people yards. From what I can recall, the guy that started the cadillac ranch does the odd yard signs as well. He also put an ad in the newspaper once looking for elephant trainers, a bearded lady, a sousa player and a unicycle rider all in ome ad. Quite random.

These are great and I love the cadillac ranch pictures. We went there last year with our little boys and as car fanatics they loved spraypainting their names onto those cars!

Stanley Marsh.
he's a weird one. when i was younger and worked as a waitress at cracker barrel, he got banned for bringing an entourage out there (where the weather channel video crews had set up camp during the big freeze in '99) and danced on his cars (painted the color of flamingos) all while wearing a chicken suit. he's a nut!
the caddys actually belong to the Route 66 group that keeps it up. but it's on his land. my parent's live about a mile away from those cars. i sometimes forget they're there!
nice shots though. i LOVE the one of her standing on the chair!

Thank y'all sooooo much! You have no idea how much I appreciate your kind words!
Actually these were all taken at Cadillac Ranch. They had just plowed under the fields around it, so to escape the German biker tourists (that part of the story and pics are on the blog) we headed into the fields. I think my favorite shots were when the umbrella inverted itself in the wind. I'm not much on props but I loved what the umbrella, which we destroyed, and the chair did for these. That first shot is going on all my advertising. I'm so glad y'all like it too!
We were supposed to do this shoot when I shot the first of these two brides' wedding in January. Except that it snowed a foot the day of her wedding and there was no getting her out in it the day after. Wouldn't this be a cool place to shoot in the snow?
