Just finished reading this one today - and every woman who is out there wondering "Why can't I make more" or "What am I doing wrong" or "How can I be more successful doing something I love" should read this. She points out things that women in general tend to do or not do that keep them from achieving financial success and happiness in their work situation. I found myself thinking, "Oh crap, that's me" several times while I was reading.

Definitely recommend this one to the ladies. Guys, I'd pass, I can already see the "Huh?" look you'd have on your faces as you were reading. huh.gif

No problem, hope you like it! She's not the most gifted writer in the world, but she gets her points across. You just have to be willing to accept that some of the things she is talking about, flattering or not, might apply to you, lol!

I was lucky enough to see her speak in person at a Women's Conference last year, and she's an amazing person. I have one of her later books, Overcoming Underearning, and Julie's right--if you're willing to admit that what she says applies equally to you, you'll get a lot out of it. Suppose I need to reread it again! laugh.gif

No time for books. Boil it down for me. I just want the 12-step list.

I guess that's why I'll always be dirt poor.

I agree with what everyone said. (And wow, I can't believe the author just posted?! Wow. Random..and cool.)

It's definitely enlightening to read as a woman because financial literacy is something that isn't necessarily instilled in us. This is an empowering read for pretty much anyone who is trying to provide for themselves. Another thing I really loved, which is awesome for someone trying to get on their feet and learn more about a new industry (Weddings), like me, is that you shouldn't undervalue you work. You create stress for yourself when you don't charge what you're worth, and actually fostering the confidence to ask for more is a challenge. But taking yourself more seriously is something that isn't just important as an entrepreneur, it's necessary to implement that mindset in life.

Off to order a copy for myself smile.gif
