I know she hasn't posted around here much, but i am sure see is lurking. I was looking at her blog the other night and she had mentioned she was getting a new site. So, I went to www.kimberlybee.com and found a really great site!

I am a lover of her images and I know that after she posted here many of you were too! Especially the two kids in the field with the mountains in the background.

Okay, I'd love to hear your thoughts! I haven't officially shown anyone yet, so osp is my first audience *GULP* (thaaaanks t ).

There are some things that I would already like to change, but I want to see if they jump out at you before I say anything. I'm doing this on my own, so I'll call this version one and improve it as I go along.

Kacy- their names are Amberly & Aiden (4 & 3yrs old). Thank you... I'll admit that I think they're pretty darn cute myself =)! Speaking of which, that's one of the things I wasn't going to mention- the plethora of my own kids in the children's gallery. Let me know if that was painfully obvious or the least bit bothersome (do you think it would be from a objective/potential client's perspective?).

If anyone has a minute to look over my pricing info, I would love to hear some feedback on that specifically. TIA!!

Well, I saw your pricing and thought it looked great. I have been wanting to re-do mine to launch next year- and this gave me some really great ideas! I think it is great to start at a price that you know will pay for the time you invest creating each image- I think you have done just that. You have a very unique special gift and or touch and I think people are willing to pay for "that look"!

wow I just spent quite a bit of time on this site and i'd say its perfect, you really hit the ball out of the park! I think its such an awesome presentation and I looooove your about me section. Amazing! Awesome images too!

Here are my thoughts...sorry if it's long.

1. Once I enter the site, it looks like something is loading incorrectly or not at all. I've included a screenshot to show you what I mean. I think this *could* be a browser issue (I'm on Firefox on a PC).



2. I *love* how easy it is to compare your packages. Great job on that!

3. LOVE your about page! I think the pictures are a great way to start it off.

4. Your pricing looks great - I love that you include an album with portraits! Do you ever have clients that would prefer a print credit or anything (or do you know yet? ) I like how easy you have made it to compare different packages and so forth. I'd like to see samples of the different albums you offer, but that's not really necessary on the website (in my opinion!)

5. My only other complaint...Your email link is a mailto link, which I've found confounds some people. I think a contact page would be nice...I'm computer savvy, and would at least like to just be able to see the email address and send something than click it and have it open my mail program, etc.


Did you have a designer do this...or a template, or what? I *really* like how your logo is on all of the images, and I think the pink and green are FABULOUS!

Tawnya, I came up with a lot of my ideas with your help/info, but thanks for the credit anyway, lol. It might seem like pretty bold pricing straight out of the shoot, but I’ve been working for less than minimum wage doing portfolio building for so long… and I’m trying to avoid digging my own hole, if you know what I mean. I was wondering if you Phoenix-ers think that price range will fly. I guess we’ll find out soon enough!

(1). The screenshot… ah man, that border is supposed to stretch down the side. I guess Firefox doesn’t roll like that. I’ll have to figure out a work-around, hmmm…

(2 & 3) Thanks! Those segments took me the longest, so that’s great to hear.

(4) I don’t know yet, but I’ll keep you posted! I think I’ll be flexible about substituting a print credit for the album if anyone asks.

(ETA: this is waaaay more info than you bargained for, but if it helps you or even one other person…)

My slideshow template: The green floral is supposed to *look* like the background, but it’s actually part of each image (maybe that’s quite obvious, I don’t know). I *think* this will work with any slideshow program, and it's a good way to customize your gallery with your own brand/theme.

• I made the template in photoshop with the green floral background as the bottom layer, an "images folder" in the middle, and the little pink logo circle on top.
• I made an action to batch resize and add little white borders on the side of each image (.03 inches on each side), and then add it to the template’s “images folder”.
• I made another action to traverse through each image in the templates "images folder" w/green background and logo, flatten and save it to the slideshow.

Does that make sense? Confusing info overload? I can’t help it, I’m so thankful for your feedback =)!
Oh, I used SlideshowPro (note: it does NOT have an ordering option for client slideshows!).

Kimberly - totally followed what you said about the logo and such - I had an inkling that might be what you had done...I really like it...it helps tie things together very nicely. I did reload in IE and had no problems with the border and such...just so you know I'm sure there's a workaround though to make it display properly across browsers. If I had a mac, I'd test it out there for you
