Full Version: did I break lightroom?
OpenSourcePhoto > Digital Photography > Post Processing > Lightroom

I can't figure it out, I used to be able to right click and edit the image in photoshop with the lightroom changes--but lightroom no longer allows me to do this.

I think it might be related to the fact that somehow we had CS2 and CS3 on this machine... (when we put CS3 on it didn't upgrade CS2 for some reason, and just created a new program), so lately I uninstalled CS2. Now Lightroom isn't recognizing CS3 at all tongue.gif

Any idea how I can get it to recognize photoshop again? (hopefully without reinstalling CS3, it took 5 hours to get the creative suite installed. tongue.gif) This is really clumsy without being able to use them together.

Under Preferences, you might try selecting CS3 as your alternate editor.

thanks for the idea John,

I tried that and in the external editing spot it says "edit in photoshop (not found)"

so somehow it lost photoshop... I don't see any ways in the preferences to relocate CS3, so perhaps I'll have to back up my library and reinstall Lightroom?

...ahh fruitcake! this is annoying.

So John was right and I was able to set it as my external editor, but dangit, it's horribly slow!

I want my default back!

Anyone have any ideas how I might be able to get Lightroom to recognize photoshop again? If not, I'll try reinstalling the programs soon, I just didn't want to do that step... tongue.gif

I'd first just try re-installing Lightroom. And did you try Adobe's support? This has to have come up before.

(And there's probably just a single registry entry that needs to be edited - if you're on a PC. You could search through and try to find it with a registry editor.)

That totally sucks. Although I am of no use in helping you...I hope you get it fixed with minimal work. Supid Computers... smashpc.gif
