Photographed this little bugga bugga this past Friday. His mommy was a maternity client as well. He was the perfect subject...very cooperative. I shot this session on location in their home with a Larson 3x4 and a 42"x72" reflector...a couple of baskets and a few blankets.

awww just adorable! What is his ethnic background, his skin and hair are just amazing! I love love love the shot with the red blanket.

the real Carrie V
He is GORGEOUS!!

That last shot is a WEE bit "anatomical" for my taste... maybe turning him a little bit more face forward to the camera would put the emphasis back on his perfect little face!

I love your nubby fabric choice in that first shot. It makes a very nice contrast to his sweet skin.

How did you ever get him to actually SLEEP, lol!! My baby clients always seem to want to check it all out, rather than sleep and look sweet and calm!
Jules
I agree with Carrie about everything -- the butt shot is a bit too much and that fabric in 2 and 3 looks awesome!

I love LOVE the red blanket, but it would be easy enough to ps out the folds. His skin is absolutely beautiful!

Thanks, Erin...both parents are African American.

Thanks, Carrie and Julie...I struggled with that "booty" shot and wondered to myself if it was a wee bit much...should have went with my first instinct, I guess. I'll probably crop it before showing it to the parents.

This was probably my best newborn shoot...he slept almost the whole time...I usually don't get that lucky. I only got a few shots of him with his eyes open...which always look strange to me since they are so young they can't actually focus on anything. smile.gif I much prefer sleepy newborns. Mom nursed him twice during the session and he went right to sleep after each feeding.

The red/orange-y colored "blanket" is actually a woman's scarf. I'm always on the look out for things I can use with the wee ones. smile.gif

Thanks again for all the feedback...it's much appreciated.
