I've been one of those DIY web people for a while now. I tried (and somewhat failed) to use a cheap-o template and edit it myself in flash. It was slow and clunky and I hated it! Not to mention the time it sucked out of me trying to fix it rolleyes.gif

I finally got myself a flash palette template (which was super cheap... I can't believe I didn't do this sooner!) and I'm almost through with filling it up. I just need to add more photos to a couple of the galleries.

I also got the blogger-modifying bug that's going around and had to have one of the new non-blogger looking templates so I gave that a DIY makeover as well.

Please let me know what you think! Is there anything you'd change?

Both can be found at my splash page : katyregnier.com

Thanks for looking!

I really like it...nice job!

By the way, where did you get your template from? I have one that I have been messing with, but I am always looking as to what else is out there...

Hey Chad, thanks for checking it out! I got the template from flashpalette.com and I bought the "mini plain" version which is only $66! The sample on the website is black, but you can customize the colors of all of the text, background, etc. which is how I got mine to be all white. I think the interface of their editor is really simple and easy to use. The only downside is that you don't get the fla file to edit yourself in flash, you only end up with the swf (if that matters to you smile.gif ). So far I would highly recommend them, it only took about a day to get my new site set up to where it is now!

Great job Katy. I love the clean lookout of your site, and my husband, who hates music on sites, thinks your music works well smile.gif

Ditto Kaitlin. What song is that? I like it!

Thanks guys! I spent a long time looking for a song ... I went through pages and pages of "royalty free" music and couldn't find any I liked, so I went with a local artist that wasn't on a label and just contacted him directly to get an ok from him that I had permission to use his song on my site smile.gif .

His name's Lee Coulter and he's in San Diego. His website's leecoulter.com if you want to hear more of his music. I also have a link to his website from my "links" page of my website.

Thanks for sharing Lee's info...been listening for half an hour now, good stuff.

Oh, and the site's nice too! I'll have to come back and give it a good look, but the first impression is good.
