I don't know if my friends saw this before they nodded off for the big race and I'm certainly not going to tell them because Amy would freak but can you believe that the day before the big Triathalon there was a gnarly shark sighting! LOL ...wow!

I'm gonna go chear them on at 7am tomorrow morning and the first thing is the swim so I'm gonna keep my eyes peeled because this shark was spotted just a few miles from where they're swimming!

Amy has been so scared of this and I'm thinking they're all sleeping because they have to be there at 5am but how hilarious - I had to post it.

...and when I read this I decided to search around some more and found some sweet pictures of sharks. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/Opensourcep...-read-this.html

I love that you google sharks in your spare time.

So great! Haha.

When I moved to SoCal back in in 99 I went to the beach for the first time at Huntington and was actually thinking about sharks (because I am from Minnesota and think of such things when confronted by the ocean). I manned up and was up to my ankles in water and looked up to see a Cessna pulling one of those flying banner ads for "Deep Blue Sea" (that awful shark movie with Sam Jackson) above the beach. I was out of the water in seconds and didn't return for weeks.

I've also seen aerial photos of long stretches of beach in Socal and Florida where someone has circled about a dozen black shapes labeled "SHARKZ!!!!!" about 25-30 feet from swimmers and surfers. I just don't get it. That along with tsunamis, riptides and jellyfish? No thank you. Water should be surrounded by land, thank you very much and the "fish" should weigh less than me.
