I had the opportunity this past week to do something kind of different with a couple of our clients! We actually made two sessions out of the

The first of the sessions last Wednesday, we actually went out on Jet Skis for part of the session (please picture me in jeans and a button-down on the Jet Ski with camera resting in my lap as we are riding on the lake! laughing.gif ).

For the second session on Saturday night, we got to go downtown with his Ferrari!

(Sorry guys, not sure what's wrong, but the site isn't letting me post images...)

You too? Oh good, thought it was our computer. We've been trying to post those fashion pics you wanted....but for some reason can't.

DJ or Tim?
Nathan Holritz
I just sent DJ a pm.... Please don't give up on posting those images!!!

Hmmm...maybe the server was down earlier...it must be on a west coast schedule because it seems to have had its coffee and is cooperating now.

Dude, those are awesome! What were they for... I wasn't clear on that.

Um, okay -- I'm a idiot. Now, having read the topic TITLE, I retract my earlier question smile.gif

I love that you created the sense of motion instead of using the safer route. I'm a big fan of blurred action. Those are great.
photomom
wow! Those are great!!!!!

love the photos! Could you post some info about the images...

I hate to ask that too much but need better engagements images that say WOW THAT IS GREAT not wow that is nice. :-)
Nathan Holritz
Hey Jason! The jet ski shots were shot at f2.8 at 1/1500-1/3200 sec. and the car shots were done at f4 at 1/20 sec. Panning the camera with the car added to the "blurry" background.

It didn't hurt that the images were shot with a Nikon either... laughing.gif

Thanks for the info! I am trying so hard to get something that is not so bland in my images...Unfortunatly we do not do too many engagement sessions...any advice on how to entice them more of our clients to see the value in it. I explain being able to work with me before hte wedding and ways to use them...most seem like they are just to busy!

Nikon? I think the ferrari helped a bit! I usually get someting like a 1990 camero at my weddings!!
Nathan Holritz
We actually include engagement sessions with all of our packages (if you charge enough, you can justify doing that!). We feel like it's an important aspect of the service that we provide. It gives us an opportunity to get to know the client better and vice versa. Come the wedding day, and we are famimliar with each other!

After having done this for a while, it can be disappointing when we happen to photograph a client's wedding that we haven't gotten to do an engagment session with... Needless to say, some clients aren't as photogenic as others, and having done the engagement session before-hand may have helped!
