This is an AMAZING product. Check out my first go at this thing ... LOL ... it took me about 5 minutes smile.gif !

I can't believe this thing goes for what it does. Seriously, DJ, thank you. Everyone else, go right NOW and get showitfast! I can't imagine anyone regretting it. This is a great moment for early adopters biggrin.gif .

C'mon man ... your tools are like creativity lube for my tiny little brain ... LOL ... thanks again man!

Oh ... and by the way, I take back my endorsement wink.gif . I think everyone should avoid this product and let me own it exclusively thumbsup.gif .

David,

I checked out the demo and like it a lot. There are a few things that would make me like it even more.

1) I added my own music and tested it with a series of 36 new senior pics. I chose a rock sound for the MP3 as it fits the images well. It would be awesome if there was a way for the program to fit the slideshow to the exact length of the song. Maybe in addition to fast through slow have an input box to type in the song length and image numbers so that the time can be divided by the number of images for a perfect match of slide show to song.

2) I would love to be able to change the font and text size to match the theme of my site, either by CSS or another way.

3) Maybe I didn't play with it enough but I would like the option for it to play only once instead of looping.

4) It would be great if when the show ends the user is automatically forwarded to another page within the site (contact page, 2nd slide show, prices page...).

So far so good. I love the results, especially for the time it took.
davidjay
You were the first to get it but Lauren was a close second! Forest came over just to teach me how to add it to the store and we had it up for less than 5 minutes and she snuck in there and ordered one! I don't know how but it was amazing!

smile.gif I can't wait for the final version b/c we're gonna overhaul the user interface to make it look less computery (word?) and more fun and intuitive! biggrin.gif
davidjay
Brady those are AWESOME suggestions!

In honor of your fantastic input I just created a suggestion thread so if you don't mind copying and pasting those same things in there we'll keep everything nice and tidy and then we'll figure out what we can add in this first version!

Again, thanks so much! Those are great!
Brady
Sounds good David,

I have a feeling this program is going to be well worth it.

I've got to hand to you, being a Window's guy I always dread the word BETA, but yours had zero issues on my comp. Bill Gates should bring your programmer on board.
davidjay
Haha! That's too funny! My buddy Todd did all the programming for Showit Web so all props to him. We've discovered a few bugs in our testing and Dane found a way to make it crash on a MAC (haha) laughing.gif so we're working to fix it asap even though he also already found a workaround! I love solution people! biggrin.gif

Side note - the programmer for Showit Effects, Big Man Forest, is actually going down to a hang with Gates and the microsoft crew at some conference this weekend so hopefully it'll get him all phsyched to stir up some more magic!
Sara France
Dane, I watched yours as I was creating mine. Seriously, amazing images.

DJ, How do you do it? Wow! Tell Todd I said Wow! Now go get something to eat!

I will keep working on Forest for Showit Pro. wink.gif

I will post my show as soon as I have it done!
davidjay
WOW! I can't believe how many people are already jumping on it! I've been sitting here sending out registrations for the last couple of hours and I need to go get some lunch! Yes..it's 11:42pm but I really haven't eaten anything since breakfast with Dane because I've been too excited about Showit Web...and apparently so are a lot of other people!

I just got an order from Canada so Showit Web is already international...Does Canada count as international? unsure.gif No seriously...I'm not trying to bag on Canada or anything b/c my buddy Dane is from there but it's kinda like America anyway so I don't know why we don't just team up...anyway...I'm hungry so I'm sorry if it takes a little while to get out more registrations but I gotta eat.

Wow Sara! I just watched it and was so stoked on your images (I love how you can just click on the roll over of the images to advance the slideshow if you want to move it at your own pace ... nice touch DJ!). But, back to the point ... WOW AGAIN! I love your work Sara and I liked how you intro'd the piece with your logo. The picture of the girls playing on the lawn near the end killed me! So good.
Kurt
Sara - You slideshow is so great. I love your images. Beautiful. Your bride is going to love it.

PS - I was in SD over the weekend. It's been a couple of years since I been there. What a beautiful city. My wife and I might just have to move down there with you. laughing.gif

The more I play with this the more I LOVE it wub.gif!

This thing is fantastic and insanely easy to use. Most excellent work!!!!

I put up a slide show and the thing that took the longest was the ftp upload of the files. It was so easy to make this movie, that I want to make movies of all of my photos!

Not a wedding, but I put up a movie of some of my infrared photos.

Infrared Vistas
davidjay
Forget about the program! THOSE INFRAREDS ARE the BEST I've EVER SEEN! No joke people....checkout Jim's slideshow! It will blow your mind! AMAZING WORK!

I'm inspired! I've never shot infrared and now I HAVE TO!
Dane Sanders
I mentioned this on Pictage too but I can't stop talking about this thing. In fact, I'm so stoked on showitfast that I've decided to make a NEW web show EVERYDAY this week of weddings I've done in the last little bit. I've seriously been wanting to do something like this forever but just didn't have the means. I'm so amped.

Think of it as TV ... haha! Feel free to TiVo me ...

Yesterday was Sylvia and Josh ... today is Janeé and Gib. I'd love to hear what you guys think of how they turned out.

Seriously ... this web thingy DJ created changes everything biggrin.gif !
krissycat
Sara, Dane, Jim......FANTASTIC!!!!! I could watch them all day!

We have to get this!

Well you made my day! biggrin.gif Thanks but seriously, I think it is your program. As Dane said -- this changes everything!

The Janeé and Gib movie is best movie so far. I love the music and the photos (of course), but what really - really makes it fantastic is that you have the photos changing to the beat of the music. This creates a symbiosis of sight and sound which is REALLY REALLY powerful. It is what turns something good into something amazingly excellent!

You just made me realize how important it is to have the music and images in sync. Before I thought it was just various parts where the music changed it was important, but now I think it is important all throughout the movie.

This brings several enhancement ideas to mind. I need to go post to that thread right now before I forget! tongue.gif
Kurt
DJ, I love this program. I downloaded the demo version and withing 15 minutes had 2 slideshows done.

Sorry for the demo on the screen, I just haven't gotten around to purchasing it yet.

So AWESOME! I'm amped it's working for everyone! Chris and I are hanging out and figured out that if you're on a Mac make sure you drag the program [attachmentid=1367] out of the little "thing" [attachmentid=1366] that was downloaded on your computer before you try and input your registration code.

That's too funny. I was trying for a while to enter the registration. I had windows open all over the place and I didn't see that it downloaded a .dmg and that's what I was running the program from. I felt too embarassed about it to say anything. After putting the app into "Applications" everything was fine. I guess it wasn't that silly after all.

Hey Krissy! As promised ... this time it was a wedding I shot earlier this summer in Palm Springs. David Jay came and shot with me. What a great time that was! Anyway, check it out!
Chris Humphreys

Ok, I feel like an idiot asking this question, but what file are you supposed to upload to get it on the web? For instance, I can preview the show, but then if I want it to go to my site, I made a "slideshow" folder, but what file(s) should I upload to it?

I wish I were smart like the other people who were posting shows up in five mins! I'm the kind of guy who plays with it for 2 days and still can't figure it out and then (after wasting two days) asks for help.

Humbled yet again.....

blink.gif huh.gif wacko.gif

Why do I feel like my computer hates me....

pow.gif

Which of course only leads me to one place...

puterpissed.gif
Kurt
Chris,

It took me a second to figure it all out also. Here's what I did.

1. Created a folder called ShowIt Web on my desktop.

2. Used ShowIt Web to create a slideshow, it will ask you to browse for a folder to put the completed show into.

I created 2 shows name Sara&Ryan and Alyssa&Scott. ShowIt created the slideshows and placed 2 folders in the ShowIt Web folder.

3. Upload the entire ShowIt Web folder onto your web server. (In the future just add each new slideshow folder you create).

So my link looks like this:

http://www.hilmersonphotography.com/ShowIt...Ryan/index.html

Hope this helps.

what file(s) should I upload to it?

Yeah, sorry there aren't any instructions or help yet, the next Beta is going to be a lot more friendly that way. Anyway, to help everyone quickly, here are some basic instructions:

1) The first screen where you "Generate Show", there is an option to "Select folder to save Projects to:", you can leave this folder the same for every slideshow you create.

2) Then, give the slideshow (project) a name in the "New Show" field. This will create a folder inside that first selected project folder.

3) Once you generate the slideshow and customize it, this new folder will contain resized pictures, music, an index.html file, and a showit.xml file. This whole folder should be uploaded to your server for the slideshow to work online. When you upload the folder, you should be able to point to the name of that folder. For instance, if I have a project I name "JumiMatt", I upload that folder to my www.showitfast.com server, then point to the web address http://www.showitfast.com/JumiMatt. I hope that is a clear enough explanation, let us know if you have any more questions or clarifications.

Big KUDOS hug to Todd, Forest, & DJ !!

I'm ADDICTED biggrin.gif

I'm guessing the MAC version has some quirks to work out (or so I heard and am still trying to figure out) but here's what I've managed thus far....

Fun stuff really....just to test it out... amazing how much cooler this stuff seems in this format!

Dare To Share

PictageProCon Point-and-Shoot Pics

Oh, and there's a sample of the square format in the "fashion fun" thread too...
davidjay
Yea...still some quirks in both and whole new fancy interface is coming soon! biggrin.gif Thanks for posting up all your pics! It's so great to remember last week! What a blast!
Dane Sanders
Earlier this summer Sara France joined me for an epic wedding in Laguna Beach. It was such a blast! By the end of the night Sara was dancing up a storm (I think there's a thread on that somewhere ... wink.gif ) and the bachelors were lining up looking for her digits. Despite all the attention, she still managed to get some work done thumbsup.gif . You are so gifted Sara! Thanks for sharing the wealth!!

Here's the show!
Sara France
Dane, the wedding was epic and not only because I got on the dance floor at the end of the night. I had such a blast shooting that with you! I am in awe at the images you got from that wedding! Seriously amazing. So amazing to shoot with someone who has a completely different eye! I know I got more out of it than you did. I can't wait to bring you out on one of my weddings!! You are such an inspiration and such a great friend. I would shoot with you anyday and feel free to take advantage of that comment. wink.gif

Liana, both those show are so fun! Love the snap shots. Did you run them through a cross process action? Do share, I like it! You are incredible and I am so excited that I got such a great opportunity to be a part of what you were doing not because of the presentation but because of you. Getting to know you and spend time with has been such a blessing. Can't wait to hang out again! try and stay cool in Hotlanta!

Sara

Yes - last week was a BLast!!

Awww....and you're tooooo sweet Sara! wub.gif

Really, you've got this amazing quality to get people excited and enthusiastic about stuff and I can't wait to see where this takes you on your PUG tour (and everything else too for that matter)!! Can't wait for another rendeveux! Tooooooo much fun!

I do believe I batch processed those snapshots... #1 from mr. nitorix smile.gif Oh how I love these shortcuts that do cool things to our pics! I may have double-crossed a few too. (that sounds SO cool "doublecrossed"!!) Hahahaha. thumbsup.gif

AWESOME stuff Dane & Sara clap.gif

I especially like the ones with the palms and sky taken from the low angle.

LOTS of killer detail shots too!

Show it web is awesome! Thanks DJ for sharing all your tools. I need to get me Show it effects to add the magic.

<a href="http://www.legendaryphoto.com/Hughes" >Here's</a> my fisrt attempt. I just love the flow music.

Oh baby, this is such a cool marketing tool. Remember ... if they cry, they buy.

Thanks Liana biggrin.gif !! ... at first when I read this I thought you were talking about Chrissy and Boe's wedding in Palm Springs with that epic opening shot of palm trees and sky that DJ took ... So many palm trees .. so many palm trees (shout out to David Salomone there wink.gif ) ...

I love that shot by the way. Not only does DJ's software rock, but his images aren't too shabby either ... He is the WHOLE FREAKING PACKAGE!
Dane Sanders
It's Friday so this is my final installment of the week that was all about showitWeb. I just want to say one more time how grateful I am to DJ for creating this for us. Thank you thank you thank you. Like I said at Pictage, creating these slideshows is maybe even more addicting than the forum!

So, here's TiVo #5 in five days ... all of which took a total of maybe 15 minutes ... to create all five. Amazing!

This wedding was earlier in the summer near San Francisco. The ceremony was on this breathtaking plateau overlooking this surreal valley.

Thank you Susie and Mark! smile.gif
