When I am exporting in LR and try to create a custom name for my images it always numbers them 1, 2, 3, and so on. How do I get it to start at 0001? If I type 0001 in it will just revert back to 1, 2, 3 etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Andy -
There are two ways to rename your images in lightroom -either in library mode (fn + F2 on macs) or upon export. When doing it upon export, you click on the filenaming preset that you want. If you need a new preset or need to edit one, go down to 'edit'. Once in the edit window, you can go to the 'sequence and date' part and choose how many digits you want in your numbers - such as 'sequence #(0001)'.
I'm on a mac, so I'm not sure if it's similar on windows or not. PM me if you can't figure it out.

Karen thanks for your help, that is exactly what I was looking for. By the way I really like your website, and I love the pictures. What is the significance of the name FireFly Images? Thanks again for your help.
