Hey all! I've been in start up mode all summer and it's definitely time to revamp my contract. Anyone willing to take a look at it? Anything I'm leaving out or that you'd suggest i add? I've done a lot of looking on OSP and there's some AWESOME advice here regarding contracts. Another pair of eyes is always appreciated. Thanks!!!

Hey Lisa,

I just did a quick glance and think it looks pretty good. If this was your main paper trail, I would also put in Total package amount, sales tax, balance due and when. A slot to fill out credit cards if you are taking them. Complete addresses for wedding locations, hotels, and churches. I always ask if this is going to be their address after they are married, or if they are planning on changing their email address as well. I don't have a spot for it on my contract, but it is always nice to know.
Not that I am probably telling you anything new, but if you are creating custom packages, or they select one. Alway write everything that comes with the package, in the details section you have. Especially when it comes to changes your prices or what you offer with your packages. That way it is spelled out for them. I am sure someone can find something I might of missed. I would also put in there, that no final product will be delivered to client, until the balance is paid in full. Good luck, and great job.

i didn't see where you require final payment. although i'm probably blind, but if not i'd definitely consider getting full payment at least 1 week before event. this is coming from past experience, actually it's happening currently. i am still chasing down a bride for her final payment from her april wedding.

Yikes! I will add that for sure smile.gif. Thanks for the advice and good luck!

Is there a modal release? That always helps in disputes over your usage.

Hi,

well, let me throw my hat in the ring.

I am working on a document, I suppose it is a booking form and model release all in one. I would appreciate some input.

As a new company we are busy feeling our way around things, so if this document misses the mark completely, please tell me in no uncertain terms.

Hey, by some quirk of fate, it it is ok and anyone wants to use all or part of it, go right ahead! biggrin.gif

The picture is very hard to read on a smaller screen. If you can attach the pdf version, it would help in our ability to provide feedback.

Hi, a wee bit of trouble with that - I can't get the pdf down below 440k, and that is to large for an upload. Dropped it in here:

Some of the blue fields in the original are not showing up, not sure why, but you get the idea of the layout etc.

How are you making a PDF that they can fill in? Once filled in can it be sent to you?

hi,

yes, it needs Acrobat Pro to create it, but the fields can be filled in online and sent back to me. Just busy trying to fix out some details to make it work from a web page.

PM me if you need help with this.

A slot to fill out credit cards if you are taking them.

I highly recommend that you DO NOT write credit card numbers on any paper you intend to keep more than a day. There are serious security issues with keeping credit card numbers whether electronically or on paper. You are not permitted to keep the credit card number once the transaction has cleared (usually the same day).

I know this is probably a minor issue for some of you, but it's a big part of my job as a security consultant. For more information check out the PCI DSS.
