Ok any help or advice would be wonderful!
I have been on the quest for the perfect wedding album and cost effective.
If I find software that is outstanding for the creation then the pricing requires a PHD.

This is what I need.
I want a company that has friendly software for the creation.
AND
The most important part A simple right in front of your face price for the final product.

Give me the cost for a 10x10 album with the leather cover and around 150 images inside on templates. (You would think this would be a simple request)
Besides.. I dont understand the per image deal anyhow. What about per page. I think that would make things so much easier.
I love the magazine style albums. I have not ever offered those before. So this is all new to me.
I was working on an album last night and remembered that I had read that Amber takes care of the Album designs. I have a entire new respect for you Amber!!!!!
The design actually was fun. But then Im like Ohhh well what does this bad boy cost now.
Here is the email I got from Pictage explaining the cost of an album I want.
Call me stupid but "respectively" is scary. What the heck.. ??

The Pictage cost for printing varies from a 4x5 base page $1.00 to an
11x14 base page $4.50. The per image price is $1.75.
(Ok got it Base page cost more)

On top of this cost the binding also varies (Varies?? Another scary word.)from a 4x5 roughly $76.00
for a simple cover to an 11x14 or 12x12-roughly (Roughly ?? There freaking me out now!!) $152.00 for a simple
cover. In addition to this the per print price varies from $1.75 to
$3.50 respectively.

For example, if I had a 10x10 album that was 20 pages and 30 images, the
cost for printing would be around $93 and the binding price would be
around $167 for a rough total of $260 without any add-ons or cover photo.

The price is calculated for a Leather Craftsmen Album Binding 300 Series
and they also vary by how many pages you have and the number of images.

I must be a complete idiot. Because I could speak and undrstand Russian sooner then that email?

Well Im done venting now.
I'm sure this is very easy for those of you who have dealt with these album before. But its mind boggling for me.
I knew I shouldnt have smoked that marijuana when I was a teenager! It ate all my useful album building brain cells. biggrin.gif j/k

TIA for any advice.

Linda,
Yes, pricing out albums can be very complicated. We use Miller's labs to print our photos. They offer a free album design software, but it is only for pc users. We use a Mac, so we have not used it, but I have heard it is good. We use a program called Labprints Labprints. It allows us to design the albums then send them to Millers when we are ready. Millers is able to color correct the individual photos, but charges us just for the print size that we order. They do not have a per image charge for the photos withing the print. We then send the final prints to Zookbinders and they make the album. You can get a price list from them that makes it pretty simple to figure out what you are paying. You would add the cover cost+Page cost(which is 2 sides)+Imprinting, cameo and anything else you want to add+Shipping=Total cost.

You can request a catalog and cover swatches from Zookbinders online. They are pretty good at responding quickly to requests for information. You can also request a price list from Leather Craftsman, although they were slower to respond when we requested it.

Hope this helps. I don't want to put any specific pricing in here since this can be read by anyone.
