This is my second attempt at this... I hit the wrong button a couple days ago and never got around to re-writting my history. I'll make it short and sweet this time!

So... here it goes...

I'm located in St. Pete, Florida. Born and raised.. Natives don't come around very often any more. So, I'm a rare breed!! LOL

My story starts when I was about 6 and my grandpa gave me my first camera. I fell in love. It grew from there. I've always been in the background taking photos. And finally, I was apprached by several friends who asked me to take photos at their weddings. I was shocked that anyone thought THAT much of my photos. I've been slowly working towards building a business, since this is the one thing that I am truly passionate about, and my husband has been so supportive of me and my new venture. It's amazing!

My only problem, I would really love to shoot second for someone in my area occasionally, but don't really know how to go about it... Maybe one day!

I read your story and it is so similar to mine! I got my first camera at age 7 and it has been my passion my whole life. My first photo was of my grandfather on Christmas Day. I too started out shooting my friends' weddings and it grew into a business. I feel now like I did it the hard way - totally on my own with no guidance for years. I went to my first mini conference in March 2006, met David Jay and then joined OSP. I have also done 3 major workshops in the last 15 months. I highly recommend furthering education. It's funny that everyone has the way that they do things and some of the people that I highly respect have completely different business models and ways of shooting. I wish now that I had even known of the possibility of second shooting and mentoring with someone. Networking with other photographers is so helpful!

You will love it here. I am not far from you in the Tampa/Brandon area. It's been hard for me too to get second shooting jobs. I've contacted a lot of photographers in my area and unfortunately none of them are looking for second shooters.
