WOW I am still in awe. We had been thinking about getting a new site for our business and I was talking to people about using BLue Domains or BigFolio, and we went with Bigfolio. Well after a week of working hard on it, both Jen and I being on both Computers everyday, we are pleased and happy to announce our new site is up.
Welcome to the new
Jen Stewart Photography web site!!!

Whew! The work totally paid off. It's gorgeous! Love the tiled images in the galleries. Great way to show more images without more load time.

Nice job guys!
I think it's great that you put a serious mom in the Family gallery (#7). There's always pressure to show only happy people, especially with kid/family stuff. I have a
serious one too, but not as poignant as that.
Good luck with it!
Can I mention a few typos I noticed on the Chris & Jen page?
"Raw" should be lower case.
There is an extra space at the beginning of the third paragraph.
There is a period missing after the last word in the last paragraph.
Hope that helps!

I LOVe it, but on my 30" screen the resolution of the images is looking pretty grainy. Is it too late to consider the images as maybe 2/3 the size?
Other that that, great job! we have two boys and a little girl on the way too! happy for you.

Amazing job guys! Way to target your audience with that 1st image. It screams modern, fresh, alternative, rocking photography.
Love it!

Looks good....but even on a small-ish screen, some of the images look grainy...and the text is itty bitty. Is that just me?
Love the music - were ya'll able to get licensing for it? I love the bubbly song, but haven't gotten in touch with anyone about using it...
ETA: Okay, I just realized that the text and such looks fine on the weddings site, but it's crazy pixelated and such on the portraits site...

Looks great Stewart! I love how big the images are, and how they resize when you make your browser bigger or smaller. Congrats on the new site!

Thanks everyone, I fixed the typos.

After looking at the same thing for a week straight it's hard to pick out the errors. We need fresh eyes to spot this kind of stuff

, I appreciate it!

I know how much work it is to launch a new site - yours looks GREAT!!
I didnt look through all the pics yet so I cant comment on what others are saying about graininess. Also, I have a larger monitor so the type didnt look small to me.
Love the galleries, and i cant wait to see the site as you add more pics.
That opening pic from your TTD session is amazing.

Thanks Mark. The blog is fixed now and we are running 100% again. We are so pleased with the outcome with all the hard work we put in. Mark did you get our email a few days ago about meeting up?

Thanks everyone.
Ok, question on the grainy photos. Is it ALL the photos, or just some of them? And if it's some, would you mind letting me know which ones, so I can fix it?
And Mark, I forgot to tell Chris you got back to us about meeting up, we've had company over all afternoon so I didn't get a chance to tell him yet.
Chris: Hey Mark PMed me about all of us getting together, one sec I'll show you

Two weird things--on the splash page, the blog logo, etc is down near the text instead of up with the other two entry images. And for some reason, when I click on the Weddings/Events site, I can access the first page (with that awesome rockin' background image) and little else. I can tell there's a contact page by mousing over it, but can't actually see a menu, and when I click on "undefined", all I get are 6 black boxes & no images. The portrait site seems to be running fine.
This is the second time in a month I've had trouble viewing a OSPer's new BigFolio site, and I admit that makes me nervous, since my own site is on one of their templates.......

That's actually what worries me.

I wonder what potential client tries to view my site & has some equally weird issue.
You can submit a support request to Big Folio & also PM Erik on here, I know he was requesting earlier that if an OSPer can't reach a certain BigFolio site, he wants to hear about it.
Here's how the splash screen appears on my 1680x1050 laptop, XP2 & IE7 for reference:
Click to view attachmentGood luck! And let me know when it's resolved. Or PM me if you need other screen shots for the Weddings/Events issue.

Because you can't control what your clients will be using to see your site, it's always best to keep it clean and simple.
Some people have really bad monitors but the will think it's your pictures first.
Great work on the site - i'm impressed with what you did with all the time you put into this - cant wait to see more!

Wow!!! Congratulations you two! The site (and images) are awesome!!! You have me drooling over a BF site now and I just got my BD site earlier this year!

Thanks marie. We are very excited and we are very tired from putting all the work in, but it was all worth it. Bigfolio's admin controls give you the freedom to take the basic templete and change the look and feel of it to personalize it all your own. Very excited about that, and the whole BF crew is outstanding in helping you. The best customer service is so worth the price. It pays for itself.
Here is what the Templetes looked like when we first got them.
Portrait TempleteWeddings/Events templeteThe frist one is the main page and the second is all the weddings/bands/events page. A little before and after for ya.

By the way, after I posted I read the other responses and I saw that some had mentioned grainy images - I saw them too and I actually LOVE them grainy... I seriously thought it was intentional. Thanks for the before & after - that's awesome!

BUMP, If anyone can point out what photos (if it's specific photos) or if it's all of them that looks grainy, I have yet to see them appear grainy on a computer, so I'm not sure what everyone else is seeing and on which ones.
I want our work shown in the best possible light, and if they were saved for web as too small of files, or if it's something else I'd like to try and fix it (or if it's just my crappy photo skills on those photos, I want to know that too

)

Awesome job guys!
Your new site rocks!
Looks like you're on the fast track to the big time. All the pics looked fine to me and the page loads seemed fairly reasonable. I think the pics you chose did a good job showcasing your style and talents. I feel like a lame-o that my site has been under construction for months. Congrats and keep up the good work.
