I'm not sure if I understand your question... I think I do and the answer is:

You run the effects on show it effects and then you save the jpg with the effect included of course and you use it however you want. It has several options on how to save the files... it's a very useful program, I love it.

The effects work on prints and slideshows. Whatever you do with the jpeg, after showit effects, is up to you. The effects are permanently saved into that jpeg. Make sure and keep a plain copy of the image somewhere else.
