Full Version: Last step in Bridge workflow

So... I'm giving Bridge a whirl and I know I'm missing something. I've applied my presets and can see how great they look in Bridge. Zip, zip, fast. BUT how in the world do I get the changes saved to the jpeg files? Is there some sort of export step that I need to take like in Lightroom? I can open them in ACR and save them there but one at a time? There has to be a step I'm missing.

I have been tearing my hair out and I've been all over the help files (which stink BTW), on Adobe's site, and searching OSP.

I'm desperate. Please, please sweet OSP angels save me from this fate! What is the last step in this workflow that I'm missing?

(And yes, I shoot JPEG. And yes, I like LR too. I just have the time to work with Bridge and wanted to give it a try. wink.gif )

Select all, Command-R (Ctrl-R on PC). That will open them all in ACR. use the select all button on the upper right. Use the save-as button on the lower left.

You can also use the image processor to do the same job with a few more options, like running an action to each file before saving:

Select all, go to the pulldown 'Tools' - Photoshop - Image Processor.

Hope that helps!

And can anyone tell me how to open all of my images in ACR? It seems only want to let me open 300 or so at a time. I have a combo of RAW and JPEGS.

I don't open a lot in ACR at a time, even if I could.
I do most of my color management in ACR, and if ANYTHING goes wrong while I'm in there editing WB/Exposure/shadow/etc, I'd lose ALL of the changes I've done so far if I hadn't clicked "done" to make the changes take effect & get saved to the sidecar/data file.
I've been burned by that a few times now over the years, so I only work on 50-60 at a time... sometimes more.
When I'm done, I open 100-150 at a time again in ACR and save out the jpgs.

I hope that makes sense!

To add on to what Bill said, I'd chip in that Image Processor is probably the better route. On another Photoshop board people have reported having trouble running batch actions on those images created via "Save" feature. Appears they don't have a system thumbnail and running an action creates a stop at every image.

-And to Misha: Depending on your system, you may not want to open more than 100 or so just because it may not have enough... "oomph!" biggrin.gif
