Full Version: I am soo proud!

I am expecting them in about an hour or two. The business just busted out into the next generation!

Our son (19) was approached by the mother of a friend of Brian's from school. It seems they cant afford a photographer but knew that Brian comes from a photog family. They asked him if he would do theirs and he agreed to do it for free to get the experience. Our daughter (23) went along and did the bridals and getting ready shots for him. And a friend of his tagged along...to get some idea of what this is all about.

Dad went to make sure the MOG (who initally was presented to us as being controlling) didnt overwhelm him. He is a sweet soft spoken kid and would never think to put her in her place if it turned into a family photoshoot!

Anyway it turns out the MOG was misrepresented! She was great. Here is where I got all gushy when Dad called.

Dad: "I am so proud of Brian right now!"
ME: "why?"
Dad: " During the formals Brian walked up to everyone and asked each of their names (13 of them) and set them up. He stepped back and got his shots calling out each name from memory!"
Me: "What?! Oh my gosh! Hey we need him to do our formals from now on!!!"

I cant wait to see what they bring home....apparantly Dad only took one shot the whol wedding! WOW! Dont think I could have done that! And they have to process their own stuff!

When we get some dust settled we'll post up some if you want to see!

9? I bet Nathan will get Nikon to mfg. a special kids model for yours.....

Start them young!!

We just got home and are relaxing. Brian will start downloading here in a little while and we're try to pick out one or two to post but i bet he will have too many good ones to choose from.

They did great today. As a parent (and employer) it was so much fun to watch Brian, Lindsay and Taylor be all over the place and getting shots. I just had to relax and trust that they had picked up something while shooting with us. I'm now sure that they did and that they will figure out how to take this to the next level.

Thanks everyone for your comments - we'll post something as soon as we can!

That's awesome! I would love to see some of the images as well. Oh my goodness I wish I could remember the names of strangers like that.

..Hello there, OSP peoples...I admit I don't really know too much about this board except when my parents are raving or ranting about the latest post, but yeah, the Lydells are my folks. Thought I'd check it out and show a preview of the slideslow for the wedding I did yesterday blink.gif smile.gif My friend Taylor took the first pic there, he was my assistent who, God bless his soul, had to wrestle with a 300D Rebel (ancient caveman hardware!) as his sole camera and still managed to make some really creative shots..My sister took some album worthy close-in ones for the next 2 (figures, since she's in college for photography), and the last 2 are my own..So yeah, guess this is my way of "busting into the scene," tell me what you think 51.gif

Ok, now that is just plain unfair!!! 19 and shooting weddings??? joke.gif I can only imagine what is going to happen when you turn 25! thumbsup.gif great job there, I know it takes some guts to say yes and shoot the entire event for the first time. You must be a genius to remember the formals lineup by hard, so kudos to you for that too. clap.gif

+1 on the ring shot! You did well for your first time. I'm right there with you- I shot my first wedding as a primary at 19, too. That was earlier this year. happy.gif High five for starting out young!

You guys were so kind!!! I made Brian hurry up and post something so he rushed...didnt even put up an avatar of himself!

He is hard at work editing and pp'ing and getting everything whittled down for his first slideshow!

Since he is kinda at Mark's mercy for help on the slideshow it might be a while...Mark is currently working on 2 weddings and we have a shoot tonight and I am working on album design. So we are all working hard right now on our own stuff...

But we will def let you know when it's up!

Thanks again guys....!!!!!

Neal, I am unfamiliar with Nikon is that a real model?
Jen, Brian just got interested this year around wedding season when he realized he could make more money doing a wedding on a Sat. than working all week at Jamba Juice!!! lol!!!
