THROUGH THEIR EYES AFRICA - MENTORING SESSION
We were contacted by David Hessemer about an exciting project. This is what he had to say about it...
"It is called Through Their Eyes Africa. The idea is to send a group of well known wedding photographers into a remote part of the world and teach a group of young adults to shoot with digital cameras and then turn their images into a traveling art exhibit and coffee table books. We have chosen a village with no electricity, no TV or Movies and never even seen a camera before. We chose this group of people because they have not had any help at all yet. There are reports of villages of kids where all the adults have died of aids or malaria. That is where we are going and who we hope to help. I am leaving for Kenya on August 14th to go with the first medical relief team to go into the area and will be doing the ground work for next years project. I will be helping the medical team, documenting the trip and actually choosing a young villager to teach to shoot photos."
We offered to be part of an Mentoring auction to help him raise funds for this project. We will also participate in some capacity to help out in the future. Looks like Dane Sanders and Jessica Claire are also participating in this mentoring session as well. It's for a good cause so bid if you'd like to win an hour mentoring session with any of these fine photographers. Also, Mike Colon has donated a set of his DVD's.
