I was really interested in exposure..not just "correct" exposure, but creative exposure..I am still working on it, but a book I got was:
Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson
I bought a slightly used version from Amazon for either $11 or $14 and it really helped me to have a better understanding and put me on the right track!

There are some books Rachel but you can't really learn through a book, mainly because of the interaction factor.
Instead, I would shot everyone and anyone you can. Look at each one and see what worked and what didn't, and learn from there. You will have to go through that process anyway, so just start there and shoot, shoot, and shoot. Always try something new and different crop wise, lighting wise, etc.
