hi Amy...
I like it, just one thing had me really wondering about why you dont have a "heart" in your logo...
something like this...

Just a suggestion. I am working on my BLU site now and its lot more work than I had thought. Its hard sometimes to see things when you're just caught up on finishing.
But I think its really important that you brand yourself... I LOVE THE NAME YOU HAVE FOR YOUR SITE so it really bugged me you didn't have a heart in your logo...
Good luck.

I really want a heart in my logo, but dummy me could not figure it out, so I just created a spur of the moment logo. How did you do that?

I am also looking into putting together a website - it's been a LONG time coming, and I see that BLU is offering some lower priced sites - but do you have to host with them? You mentioned that is is a lot more work than you thought, and that's my fear, I really do not understand the "tech" end of website development, nor do I have the $ to pay a designed right now - what kinds of gliches are you running in to and so far are you glad that your purchased from BLU? Have you had to contact their support and are they helpful if so

Thanks
Heather

Oooh, I like the logo Melissa did! Go with it!! smile.gif

Lucy's lookin' good! You've got some nice work on there!

Don't forget to change the title of your site! It still says Bludomain at the top wink.gif
Libbie
It's coming along, that's for sure! smile.gif

I would change your logo to a black background with white or colored text (and I love the heart idea). I had a hard time focusing on your great photos linking into the web site, because the big white zone kept pulling my eye up and away!

And I agree, I totally LOVE the biz name - in fact, I got a little jealous for a second! wink.gif

In the Flash side of your site, move the Seniors gallery over next to Family so that you've got all your gallery links in one spot and then all your text-page links in the other spot.

The "Coming Soon" link is intriguing...once you click on it. But I think most web site browsers would be likely to skip over that link because of its title. Maybe "Cool New Stuff" or something that gets them to click and check out what products they can get excited about. smile.gif

Ha! I LOVE your text in the Pricing section. Oh - one little bit of advice there, though.... Have SOME kind of limit on your shooting time for your own sanity. 10 hours? 12 hours? Something. I had a VERY ENERGETIC couple that dragged me around literally all day and way into the night after their wedding because they wanted some redundant posed pics at like every single tourist location in the city. Arrrrgh! Save your sanity! Impose limits!

Overall, I really like the look and feel of your site. It's fun, cute, and interesting. Good job!

Amy will send it to you as soon as I get home...

I'm so glad you liked it. took me less than a minute.
But when I was doing my logo it took me forever to figure out.
basically: use baskerville font and a heart shape in photoshop. all lower cases and then turn your heart to the right till you're happy. Name is in the same font just smaller...

Thanks for all of your suggestions and comments. I will work on it some more next week. I definately agree that I need a heart in my logo....Also it was interesting to see the difference in responses that I got from here and from PN. People here seem to be more creative and supportive... I got a lot of negative opinions on my big booty shot on the about me page. Ha! I expected that. I aint gonna lie, I got a big o butt. Anyway, I posted a blog about it getting peoples' feedback. Also, I seemed to get a few to say the site was too personal and used too much humor. Anyway, just curious if anyone here was thinking that too? I happen to be quite proud of the site and am just tickled pink ; p

But, I know I still got a lot of work ahead of me...

My blog on it is at www.iheartpix.blogspot.com

I must say, I've found OSP to be WAAAAAYYY more positive and helpful than PN. wink.gif And I think it's fun and cute that you celebrate your body for what it is. If I were shopping for a photographer, the fact that you're unconcerned about your booty would make me more inclined to like you. smile.gif I think the personality of the site and the humor is just something you have to decide about for yourself. Yes, it might turn off some potential clients who are looking for a more serious, somber professional. But it will definitely attract clients who are looking for a fun, quirky professional who they want to feel relaxed and joyful around. You can't make everybody happy all the time, so just make yourself happy and don't worry about it too much.

Well I love the constructive criticism here and honestly I did not mind the "big booty" shot I just thought it was a bit fuzzy. Does that make sense?

Also - my other thing is you have your logo with a white background on black...maybe making the background transparent with the bright colors will look a bit better. That was the only thing I really saw.

Yay and congrats on your site. I am getting ready to launch my first site as well smile.gif I know how stressful it can be smile.gif

Hee hee - me, too!! Well, not my first site but my first Blu site. It's so fun to work on, and it's really cool to see what other Blu first-timers are doing. I dig this thread!
