I shot a sr portrait session and half of the raw files won't open. when i click on one of them a box comes up and says: "Item IMG_3675.CR2 is used by MAC OS X and cannot be opened"

What the heck!?!?

I must be missing something! I also tried to drop these files in lightroom and lightroom wouldn't take them.

Definitely try opening up the Disk Utility program > Select your Macintosh HD > click Repair Permissions. Then give it a restart and refresh your cache in Bridge.

the files are on my external hard drive. that's why i'm worried because they aren't on the cards. i've only heard of them corrupting on CIF cards. I just looked at one of the files and it said "zero KB" that can't be a good sign.

the images are on my external hard drive. i tried to move the images from the ext hard drive to my desktop but got a message that read... "you may need to enter the name and password for an administrator on this computer to change the item named IMG_3675.CR2.

again, what the heck!?!

when i hit continue it reads "the item IMG_3675.CR2 contains one or more busy items that cannot be changed."

this isn't looking good.

Did you get my email? Try looking at the get info, and see if the files are locked. And have a look at the file sizes.
