Hi everyone,

this is my first post, so some background.

My wife and I celebrated our 1st anniversary 2 days ago (Sunday) and I tell you this because David Jay did the photography, here in Michigan. (Thanks for that)

Now, we have a wonderful daughter named Hannah, photo attached. We managed to conceive her a mere 2 weeks or so after the wedding.

Stacey (my wife) and I are busy putting together our own photography business just now, although she is the more talented and better trained of the two. :-) We hope to share a lot in this site, and are very excited about what we want to achieve.

I put together a site in Flash, and would appreciate any comments. I realize that it probably needs some work, but it's a start, right?

Here it is. http://www.welcometoventure.com

Any feedback would be good, go on, I can take it. Some pages are still being revised, but the pages with the albums are pretty much complete.

Anyway, hello again, and hopefully we can have a prosperous relationship.

welcome! what a precious little girl. When I was a kid I had a friend that we called hannah bannana.
Stacy Ziegler
Welcome.

Your daughter is gorgeous.
Hugh Anderson
well, thank you both for the kind words. Yes, Hannah seems to be getting the name Hannah Banana firmly fixed to her. Maybe we need to break the habit a little. :-)

hahaha! I think DJ is contagious! He was my wedding photographer too and I began my business shortly after my wedding. Dang it...if he wasn't so good, I'd still be stuck in law school. Yuck! tongue.gif tongue.gif

The images are great on your site! Very well designed. The only thing that might be frustrating is instead of having the drop down menus in flash, you might want them to be static (where you click on the word like "portfolios" and instead of them sliding over every time you roll over it, it slides over and stays until you click on something else.) Reason is, if you try to select one of them and you move your mouse diagonal and go off of the word for a second, it all disappears and you have to do it all over again, and wait for the words to slide, and especially if someone has limited hand-eye coordination (many more people than you think...) then it could get frustrating. Secondly, and this was told to me when I first posted my site, list your most expensive packages first so people can see what they are missing. Apparently that's just the way to go to get people thinking about the larger packages. So, I hope that helps! I am very impressed with your work!

Hillary

P.S. when was your wife at Brooks? We might have been there at the same time!
Hugh Anderson
Hi,

thanks for your input, I really appreciate it.

That is the first site I every built with Flash, and to be honest, I was learning it as I went along!!

I know what you mean about the menu - I was either going to increase the hot spot area is it is harder to "fall off", or just make the sub menus static. The sliding in part was when I was trying to come up with something cool, and that was the result. :-)

There are pages still being worked on, and the pricing page will be totally revamped. We have not started to promote the site, so the text in some pages is really placeholder text. I appreciate the heads up re pricing

Thank you for your kind words, it makes the long hours slogging over Flash worth it!!!

Oh, my wife left Brooks around two and a half years ago.

Hugh
